Who’s the most disappointing boxer in the last decade?

I’ll say it’s AJ. The guy was on the cusp of being as Mayweather (if not bigger) but he’s not the brightest bulb out there. His propensity to follow Hearn around like a dog and inability to be strategic ruined his career.

The guy conquered Europe and the rest of the world. His buzz was growing in the US and with that right strategy - he would’ve conquered it. I remember telling a lad on Reddit the day AJ went on the US TV and claim he’s levels above other HWs and he’ll fight them even if they’re juiced up that this guy is a dummy who’s getting too big headed. And he’s better off playing it safe now that he’s taken successive tough fights until he gets the undisputed because styles make fights. No boxer can beat everyone and once you’re the top - playing it safe will keep you there.

Also, I will like to add that I no longer have any interest in being a supporter of the guy’s boxing career. Henceforth don’t attach me to him on here. I gave him a pass when he posted black supremacist stuffs. However, posting Joe Rogan who continuously used the most devilish racist term in history and called people planet of apes during the controversy following Rogan is the last straw. I don’t see race but when a guy keeps posting supremacists from all sides like a dummy - it shows he doesn’t read the room. Awareness is important and I don’t align myself with any form of hate.

Joshua overachieved. He began boxing at what? 18? Became Olympic champion and unified world champion. He definitely overachieved based on his talent/experience. The only people who feel AJ underachieved are the guys who don’t understand the sport and got ****** into the hype.

Andrade is the answer IMO. Tremendous talent but has failed to step up since beating Vanes in 2013. It’s been a complete waste of a once promising career.

Gary Russell Jr deserves an honourable mention too. Great talent but far too inactive and it’s recently cost him.

Chavez Jr was always just crazily overhyped for me, even when he was coming up he was struggling with Matt Vanda, Zbik and guys like that. He did show some flashes of potential in the Lee fight and the late rounds vs Martinez but I always thought he was a hype job tbh.

Yeah, I don't think he was ever that good other than a few flashes, but he was definitely a disappointment to his father

I'm dying to know Stuart Chandler 's pick. Who could it possibly be?

All of these are big dissapointments, as the fans expected a lot more from them, due to their amateur background, or to some achievements early in their careers, or due to mere hype (such as in Verdejo, Chavez and Broner's case).

                - ¨FotD¨ Broner

                - Gary Russell Jr

                - Joshua

                - Chavez Jr

                - Abner Mares

                - Yuriorkis Gamboa

                - Verdejo

                - Rigondeaux

                  Broner

                  Russell Jr

                  Zurdo

                  Andrade

                  Jermall Charlo

Wish Mikey Garcia would have been more active and taken on more top level opponents at 135 and 140, and Tank is on his way to being Broner 2.0, maybe worse.
