Was he crying when he left Reynoso and crying again when he went with Goosen?

Well, a lot of wild comments on here, I think the reason for him switching trainers is painfully painfully obvious: he’s opening up his own gym (which it says in the own article), obviously he’ll be training at this gym, and obviously Reynoso would be unable to train him at his gym given Reynoso’s established stable of fighters across town. It’s a business venture that couldn’t be accommodated with his current team.

I don’t think Ryan Garcia’s heart is really in it, and we can speculate whatever reasons we want, so he’s trying to set himself up for early retirement. This gym is part of it.

Goossen is an accomplished trainer, nothing wrong with working with Joe, if it’s a fighter with a fragile psyche an established father figure type might be helpful.

Good luck to Garcia. He’s exciting, has all the talent in the world, and is great for boxing if he’s fighting and winning.
