-CLOSE is 8 or fewer pts difference, eg 116 - 112, 115 -113 115 - 113 or closer. CLEAR is 9 - 17 pts difference, eg below 117 - 111 on all three cards WIDE is 18 points or over ie an average of 117 -111 or above on all three cards

-If you'd like to change your pick before the fight starts, post in this thread to do so. Ideally tag me so that I don't miss it.

-2X doubles your points and 3X triples your points. Everyone starts with 10 doubles and 6 triples to use throughout the year. If you forget how many you have left, check the leaderboard in the master thread. Every player also has 3 x5 special multipliers which can be only be used on an underdog (+100 or greater) fighter.

    ...............

If I could ask one of the mods to kindly sticky this thread and remove anything else Pick Em related except the 2021 masterthread, be greatly appreciated. And thanks once again for your help gentlemen.

OK gents, just the one this weekend and to my mind a real tough one to call. In theory Jacobs has the pedigree and John's the one with some losses might make you think he's a level below but things really ain't that clear cut. Johns losses at 168 - to Fielding and Mundo - are both widely regarded as - ahem - 'poorly judged' and Danny ain't exactly covered himself in glory since moving up... in fact you could make a decent case that he deserved an L in his last outing against Gabe nearly 15 months ago now. The rumour mill's suggesting Danny;'s heart is only half in the game at this point and the long layoff can only hurt him, whilst John has fought twice since Jacobs last stepped between the ropes, picking up easy wins although not at any great level.

So which way to jump? Well that's the point of the game isn't it?

Let's just say I personally wouldn't be the slightest surprised at the Ryder win - and I wouldn't even go so far to call it an 'upset' in spite of the bookies odds having Danny the marginal favourite. Damn close to a 50/50 fight for me... big fan of both these dudes but I'll be rooting for John in this one as the hungrier fighter. If anyone deserves a bit of fortune after getting the shitty end of the stick a few times it's Ryder... one of the real good guys of the sport. Ain't gonna say I've soured on Danny but it's harder to root for a guy who doesn't seem to give it 100 any more.

Anyways... one to look forward to.

    best of luck gents

    K

Gun to my head I’d go Ryder but I definitely think there’s value in the draw this weekend.
