Fury always talks a big game but then avoids anyone good 80% of the time. If AJ had fought one top-20 heavyweight in 6 years we would rip him to pieces. It's been hard enough to get Fury in the ring with Whyte. They said White wasn't worth anything so they could make Whyte pull out then made a huge purse bid for the fight lol

Fury isn't going to knock Whyte out. He will run. Fury said every fight he will knock his opponent out and only manages it very rarely. Remember when he went the distance with Pianeta

People saying Povetkin KO'd Whyte - well Povetkin has huge power and Fury avoided Povetkin his whole career and instead kept fighting Derek Chisora

Fury should win this handily, but one of these days he will not get away with having those fat rolls around his mid section.

True, Fury has too much skill for Whyte. He does have to be a bit careful of getting caught with a big punch or two, but even then he recovers so well.

A tko for Fury I'd predict, if they fight.

I like Fury, but he's neither unbeatable nor the HW GOAT. The same people who would hold him up as the GOAT also slam his most prominent opponents as one-dimensional (Wilder) or stiff and old (Klitschko). There have been many HWs with better careers so far than Fury. Also, fringe contender Otto Wallin gave him a go, so no reason to believe that Whyte couldn't do the same or better, especially if Fury sticks to his brawling style that he's adopted these last two fights.

This is a serious challenger and I expect Fury to prepare seriously and come seriously. His pre-fight hyperbole is just that. Very excited about this fight. The challender comes with power and tools and he deserves the shot. He also has a chin that has twice shown it's limits. The Champion has everything nessisary to stay a step ahead of Whyte throughout the fight and land hard enough late to get the legacy enhancing stoppage. For him the real risk is his need to stay clear minded and prepare properly, which is the only wild card in play, as is always will be when Tyson Fury defends his title. The smack talk is going to be FUN.

Lol....Not a Tyson Fury fan I guess. Your post makes me think though. Let's say Fury comes in fat, maybe wealth has softened his edge or his mental illness cycles in uninvited to blur his focus, and he's out of touch with his best performance ability on fight night.....and Whyte is suddenly in the right place at the right time, and catches The Champion, taking the title. Now, Fury joins the other two of the Big Three as Damaged Goods!
You remember the era of the big three. Fury the man who beat the man in recess, getting sick then getting well again, and Wilder, the stoic American destroyer, and Joshua, the Biggest world star in UK sports with the smile and the shredded look, both champions makng multiple title defenses ala Ali, Holmes, Tyson, Lewis, Klitschko.
                  And then we moved on....
After Joshua stumbled (then stumbled again) and Tyson beat Wilder in their epic 2-0-1 trilogy he became the last man standing, and combined with his being the one real (Lineal) title holder; the new story has been that Joshua and Wilder, while Pedigreed contenders, where not quite in Tyson Fury’s class. Thats the facts. But if Fury were to drop his title, how fast would that perception change?

Such are the pitfalls of being the most important sportsman on earth.

I disagree. I don't think Whyte possesses any significant challenge. Would love to be proven wrong but Whyte is just...awful. I have no idea why people rate him because he's so horrible technically...but unlike Wilder, he doesn't possess the durability or the right hand. Interestingly enough I expect Whyte to give a good account of himself and then absolutely plastered in any fight after this. For me its his footwork, its just shocking. He's too slow to really get into the mid-close range to make his hooks effective and I don't see how opening up to the body doesn't result in anything other than him being jabbed to death in the face. Fury would have a stinker of a performance for Whyte to be in the running.
