Comments Thread For: Ex-Teofimo Lopez Assistant Trainer: 'They've Got to Maneuver Him a Little More Now'

Joey Gamache believes the handlers of former lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez need to employ more tact as it relates to the latter's career. The 24-year-old Lopez suffered a major upset last November, when he dropped a decision to Aussie underdog George Kambosos Jr. at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The excuses continue. If he loses his first fight at 140 what would the e cause be.

I like Gamache as a trainer, he seems to give good advice in the corner. He's probably right about Lopez staying too long at 135 and he will need to navigate 140 carefully because he won't have the same advantages there that he had at lightweight.

I would say Teofimo should have a easy tune-up against a overrated bum a jr. welterweight ; Jack Catterall fits the profile but hes busy.

Teo is not in a good place right now. His latest IG posts are little concerning, calling his wife a ***** and not being able to see his child.
