OTOH Mikey at the top has got a 50 point buffer and if he lands even 1 of his x5s he's sitting pretty. I think barring some major upset the prize positions are gonna go to Mikey, you and ruedboy. in that order I'd guess. Mind you we've seen some big turnarounds end of year before so..
Y'all just lucky I made some picks based on the heart and not the head. Next year, suckers!

Okay gentlemen, mixed bag of results with about half of you getting both winners and only a few perfect picks - unsurprisingly perhaps given Parker's injury couldn't really have been predicted. Still given what we saw I suspect a Ryder KO would have been the likely outcome even without the corner stoppage... Nice victory by Rougarou - big fan of Chon too but Regis always had the higher ceiling and nice to see him fighting at the top level again.

Big scores for this week came for the 3 who very sensibly dropped their hoarded x5 on Ryder FTW... big cong**** to koolkc107 with a massive 180 pts, Chrismart with 130 and of course MikeyG whose 120 should have put his pole postion beyond reach of his closest competiton barring some kinda catastrophic last minute upset. Well done gentlemen!

      Kind regards

      K

Yes, I'm interested to see what we're going to do for the remainder of the year. I'd could see Lopez-Martin and Warrington-Lopez making the pick 'em and undisputed not being good enough.

What about Michael Conlan vs Karim Guerfi?

                  • Got a coupla hours free today anyways - my youngest is off school full of snot with this strep thingy that going round in the UK and I'm ****ed from training yesterday so Ima get the updating done, put up next weeks thread and try to run up a schedule that'll take us to the end of the month.

Coming up this week is going to be a big one - 4 fights including Inoue vs Butler on the 13th.

                    Warrington vs Lopez
                    Bud vs Avenesyan
                    Teo vs Martin
                    Inoue vs Butler

You could make the case that maybe we should pass on Teo vs Sandor since it ain't for a world title and Teo ain't ranked at 140 but Sandor is top 10 per TBRB and Teo almost certainly belongs there and I'm kinda granting him borrowed status as a former undisputed lightweight.

After that it all gets a bit iffy until the 31st in Tokyo - the traditonal climax of the boxing year and the Pick Em. Ioka vs Franco of course is a must see.

Now I don't really just want to lose momentum and leave things hanging between the 13th and the 31st so I'm probably going to drop in one or two of the second tier fights, I'm thinking maybe two or more of these:

                    #30 Souleymane Cissokho VS 12 #13 Tulani Mbenge 19 1 0 welter
                    #21 Dan Azeez VS 12 #20 Rocky Fielding 30 2 0 light heavy
                    #16 Michel Rivera VS 12 #34 Frank Martin 16 0 0 light
                    #62 Hassan Mwakinyo VS 10 #43 Peter Dobson 16 0 0 super welter

No titles on the line but all 4 star fights per boxrec, no odds on the fights from Nantes or Zanzibar (the Chairman Mao stadium huh? Guessing Beijing paid for that one.. ) but Azeez vs Fielding ain't massively wide odds and the bookies have Rivera vs Martin not far off even.

Mwakinyo vs Dobson is really an afterthought, it would be cool to have 2 fights on the last card of the year but I gotta admit that one is kind of pushing it given how completely Hassan caved against Beefy last time out. Gotta admit IDKSADobson however - the kid's unbeaten but does anyone know if he's any good? Rare to see an unbeaten US prospect so far from home.

Anyone got any preferences or opinions on which of those to include please mnake your thoughts known gents - as always.

                    Regards

                    K

Mmm. Mick's like a -2500 favourite man, without a title or a high ranking to go alongside it's probably a pass. I do like Cissokho vs Mbenge and Azeez vs Fielding though. And to my mind Rivera vs Martin should be a good un... all much better fights for the Pick Em I think.
