I really wonder if it is a gimme though. You are right to think so, considering McKinson’s low KO rate, but he is undefeated and Ortiz was in the hospital last time they were supposed to fight; and he just left Robert Garcia and is now training with Manny Robles. Those 2 are very different types of trainers.

I do sometimes wonder though if putting these kinda fights up - ie for hardcore fans only - that some of the possible participants just skip a week - then they get behind and lose interest a bit. Probably out best bet is to invite more hardcore fans

Marriaga is about 5 years past being a contender and is now just a gatekeeper and I was never convinced about Conlan as he wasn't being stepped up quickly by Leigh Wood. But ... in the absence of feedback I'd put both fights up.

Alrighty Gentlemen, enjoy the fights this weekend and get ready for a Pick Em next weekend. I don’t think we have enough general interest in this weekend’s fights to place either on the board. Odds are wacky and it’s just a one way street IMHO. Get ready for the fights on the 13th.

Nc i don't understand why your not putting up the fights..
These fights be just as relevant as many others for the years, plus it keeps players interested and engaged.
Many fights have had wierd odds.
It dont mean the league stops.
Anyway that just be my opinion.

Trying to find info on Michael Mckinson but his fights are difficult to come across.
Before Alex Martin, He knocked down his last five opponents in the first rounds who held decent records before they faced him.
Przemyslaw Runowski (19-1-0) (Defeated Samuel Vargas by decision in 2021)
Chris Kongo (12-0-0) (Defeated Sebastian Formella in 2021)
Martin Harkin (13-0-0)
Luis Alberto Veron (17-0-2) (Went the distance with Alexis Rocha in 2022)
Evgeny Pavko (18-2-1)
Is it the anywhere near being a Great record? Far from it but it demonstrates how skill wise, his knockout ratio might not paint the whole picture.
Vergil Ortiz Jr should have this in the bag though, in a recent interview he replied that compared to RGBA, in Manny Robles's Gym he has easier time finding sparring partners that are southpaws, he has some experience against awkward and slick fighters albeit they use an Orthodox stance.
Besides the Amateur Background he has faced Mauricio Herrera who although was 38 years old, he presented the same problems he showed against Jose Benavidez, Danny Garcia and Sadam Ali who people considered him to have been robbed two out three of his biggest fights.
He also was never knocked out previously.
Brad Solomon in the other hand was at his prime with a record of 28-1-0 and only ever lost to Konstantin Ponomarev who had a record of 34 wins and 2 losses before facing Vergil Ortiz Jr. Ponomarev trained under Abel Sanchez.
Solomon had some decent wins such as derailing the career of a prospect Kenny Galarza who had 12 wins with 12 KOs. Defeated Ray Robinson who had a draw with Josh Kelly and Kavaliauskas, Solomon also defeated Demetrious Hopkins and Adrian Granados.
Both these fights were in 2019, he defeated them inside five rounds.Last edited by Malvado; 08-04-2022, 05:07 AM.

What I have been meaning to say in my recent posts here is, if we reduce the number of fights to pick on, we also reduce many people's level of dedication. I already have noticed that in the last weeks several of the regular pickers didn't pick, for one reason or another. If we start having repeated gaps amidst the weekends as well, consistency and regularity go out of the window if you ask me.
That's why I'd include more fights, not less... and would limit the use of multipliers to the underdogs, if they're not removed altogether. The casual will remain casual, the hardcore will remain hardcore.
