Okay gents, I haven't been giving many shoutouts during the recent updates because firstly I just been wanting to crack on with it and secondly because it always seems a bit irrelevent giving people shoutouts a month after the fact. Another reason why it's really best to stay on top of it. Anyways in this case it's only a coupla weeks ago and also it's one of the first perfect sweeps I've seen off anyone in a good while I think so kudos to mlac with with the double perfect. Well done man.

Also cong**** to SteveM and ShoulderRoll this weeks high scorers with 150 and 120 respectively. Nice work gents.

ha ha .. yeah, ooops. That big block of html code in your quote is cut'n'pasted across from a spreadsheet converter into the formatting I use on here but I guess I've got so used to chopping it in front of Sub's name I just did it on autopilot.

I'll get on it now, thanks man, and apologies to MulaKO - this is your bit here...

            EDIT: Ok and corrected now.

Thanks once again Blaster, and Mula you might want to look at your messages when you get a sec.

I guess I'm saying there's room to tighten up things by having stricter criteria for fights, or at least sticking with the criteria in the rules, and I'd also suggest a maximum number of fights per year, per month, per week - but we don't have to have a fight every week.
I fully agree with what you're saying Steve, on all counts. I believe my usage of multipliers has had a pretty good return, with only a few resulting in losing picks. And yes, it would be unfair if some trailers in the competition were able to climb the ladder by using multipliers on sub-standard fights with obvious picks.

              • At this point, one wonders if it would be better getting rid of multipliers altogether, and playing through the entire year on sheer picking accuracy.

Probably the standings would be more reliable in terms of a player's actual ability. Not to mention the much lesser headaches for Koba.

Next year, only regular points and more fights in? Whaddya say?

That is in fact, a great idea, Tat! In reality, a person shouldn't after making some bad picks, be able to catapult to the lead with a few right picks with multipliers, and beat out someone who has more correct picks overall. I say let's try it.

Well, not a bad idea but the multipliers do add some interest to the game. I think chance and community cards were put in Monopoly to make it more interesting. I think we could use a few tweaks rather than throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Whereas you can't use x5 on favourites there might be a case for not being able to use x3 on fights with massive favourites like -700 Danny Garcia for instance - or even just not having fights with -700 favourites
