Thurman didn't want smoke from Ej when he was relevant and is looking for Haymon to get a 50\50 split against Bud which isn't realistic considering Thurman isn't nearly a rising potential star he once was with that long layoff and being defeated. I think Bud should get no less than 60\40.
Thurman is no better than Khan skill wise so either way he gets stopped or beaten clearly by either Bud or Ej there's no better option here. Ugas is the dark horse but also beats him at this point.

Yep, there is the rub. No more promotion across the street excuses are left, no more blaming someone else pricing themselves out. Crawford either starts fighting whomever he can get, and builds the legacy he has so far wasted. Or he just takes some mandatories and makes money. He either wants to be great and makes up for lost time with a sense of urgency, or he just feeds both his ego and pocketbook. I used to be a huge Crawford fan, but I have left my seat on that bandwagon. I am skeptical he cares about legacy. No way Crawford takes this fight. At least not for what Haymon would be willing to pay him.
At his age Crawford doesn’t have much time left to get the big legacy fights.
Thurman would be a good name for him. Ideally it would be Thurman/Crawford and Spence/Ugas to set up a big fight this fall but I don’t think Crawford is realistic on what he would accept to make it happen quickly.
The fact that it’s been a few months and he still doesn’t have a deal with a promoter or free agent deal even being rumored should let him know where he’s at.

Thurman's best PPV was on the strength of Pacquiao's drawing power. It wouldn't be unreasonable for Crawford to demand a 60/40 split in his favor since he has a belt.Leave a comment:

Interestingly, Crawford is no longer with Arum/ESPN. Whatever money demands you have, take it up to your boss Al Haymon or Fox. You want $10 million? Go talk to Haymon. Crawford by himself can do nothing. He's a boxer, not a promoter or network.“I do like the fight with Terence Crawford, but we’ll just have to see what opens up, what really negotiates, how stubborn we get when it comes to what kind of split there is. You know, it’s just business from here on out. I do like the fight, though.” -- Thurman

I don’t know for sure, but regardless, what you’re saying is a damn sight closer to the truth than that they’re ‘polarising’ characters.
Who the hell’s getting offended by them? The worst you can about either of them is Thurman is a cheesy MF who shouldn’t be anywhere near acting post-boxing, even if it’s a home town production of the ****ing Wizard of Oz.
Man’s got the weirdest fake persona of any current boxer

I think every Thurman future opponent knows that he can be hurt with body shots more so than the average WW. Crawford doesn't need to walk Keith down - he'll counter him with body shots.Make no mistake about it, Thurman doesn't want to go down as the best that ever did it. He doesn't want many tune up fights. Nor does he like eliminators. He only wants to fight for titles, money, and instant fame. He would definitely fight Crawford, Ugas, or Spence...or whoever has a title (or can bring him the most fame/$$$).
BUT:
Thurman looked very small and frail at welterweight. He may want to target Crawford's belt over Spence's. He has a boxer's chance against Crawford. Spence will walk Thurman down and then stop him. Spence will destroy Thurman's frail body. Thurman showed that he still can't take a good body shot.Leave a comment:

Well on one side you will have No Pay Cut Crawford looking for a massive guarantee despite having been proven to not be a ppv attraction, and on the other Thurman who's living in the past and thinking he still deserves a champions, rather than a challengers, purse . . . .
Not a great chance this fight happens, is there?!Leave a comment:

Correct. And then days after he and Hearn had a one fight deal as a free agent. When you put asses in the seats your not waiting long to make deals.
When you’re Bud and can’t sell out a barn in Omaha, Nebraska then your months past being a free agent and nothing but a bs lawsuit to show for it and two of the major promoters saying you’ll lose money for them.Leave a comment:
