  • After looking good early and dropping Williams as expected he ran out of ideas and ended up looking anything but a world beater. This seems his level.

True, but vacant titles and weaker titleholders do pop up occasionally

Canelo is likely to vacate some at 168, Golovkin is likely to vacate the WBA/IBF at 160 to retire if he beats Murata. WBO 160 may be vacant soon also if Andrade moves up

      • That was quite a weird performance from Eubank Jr, but I guess that's what he has produced in the past.

He started strongly, surprised with three knockdowns, then doesn't go for the KO, and doesn't even outbox Williams. He fought seemingly scared, and that fourth knockdown was not a knockdown.

That turned out to be a very close fight, because Eubank Jr didn't really do anything after four rounds. Clearly below the top level.

cool beans, thanks. i have a whole archive of scores where i don't give a guy a 10-8 round just because he scored a knockdown.

to be honest, giving eubank 8 points in round 12 was pretty generous on my behalf.

          • Came here to eat crow a bit about eubank Jr considering he won. But he sure was underwhelming wasn’t he? The Andrade fight seemed to of taken a lot out of Williams.

All in all, gotta agree with the people saying GGG Handles Chris pretty easily, IF It happens. Be just a half decent payday for Eubank Jr at this point.

            • Eubanks was so poor in my opinion. The commentators talked him up but I think Williams should have done better at staying on his feet. They weren’t big shots that landed. Williams outboxed Eubanks for much of the first and second.

i don’t think this win helps Eubanks. who would want to fight him after that? Boring fighter to watch, probably won’t bring a lot of fans; talks rubbish and has a history of being tough to deal with, difficult to hit and the awful show boating and running away in the 12th…

                • I fully expect Eubank Junior to not fight within himself, if he ever gets a world title fight.

Eubank Junior had another gear within his bag tonight. Technically he does not have many more levels, but in terms of intensity and offensive bombardment? He has more gears.

I think he just wanted to get the win, as there is no point in trading and taking unnecessary punches.

Tonight Eubank Junior traveled to wales, entered the dragons den and got a solid win.

                  • Eubank does not look good at all fighting Roy Jones style. He needs to tighten up his defense and throw straight punches. With what I saw today he loses against any of the top 10 super middleweights

I mean the middleweights are a bit of wreck Charlo (the rubbish one) has done nothing and looked ordinary, it would be an even fight and Murata will get beat it by Golovkin ....
                      Mungia maybe ..

Not sure how 1 domestic level fighter beating another domestic level fighter puts him on a level above anyone. Highly doubt eubank jr vs charlo or Andrade would be considered a 50/50 fight.
