    Barrett Replaces Rahman
    - Steve Damato reporting

MIAMI, FL. - Thirty three year-old Monte Barrett (31-3, 17 KO's)of Queens, NY., will replace Hasim Rahman (40-5-1, 33 KO's), as Vitali Klitschko's next opponent, according to Promoter Don King, who made the announcement at today's Trinidad-Wright press conference in Miami. Rahman was slated to take on Vitali, but apparently turned down the offer of $1.5 Million.

Barrett is coming off a spectacular ninth round TKO over previously unbeaten Owen Beck last month in St. Louis. It was Barrett second upset of the year; in April he scored a split decision over the highly regarded prospect, Dominick Guinn (25-2, 18 KO's).

Got to say rahman never really wanted it?

What the hell. Another meaningless domination by Vitali.

Why doesn't he try Bryd, the man who beat him and is not going to fight his brother.
Or Lamon Brewster who beat his brother. Or Samuel Peter or **** I don't know, but he can get someone better than this guy who lost to Joe Mesi and got destroyed by his brother.

Or better yet if eveyone is ducking the Klitschko's why don't they just fight each other.

Nice Barrett deserves a shot. Even though he would have a better chance against Byrd than Vitali, he's get much more for fighting Vitali. Barrett is a good guy and a good boxer, its going to be hard for me to root against him. With that said and done, I don't see how he can beat Vitali with his lack of power and the fact that Vitali has never been outboxed.

Byrd want even step into the ring with Wladimir, what makes you think he will step in the ring with Vitali?

PS Brewster is about to fight Golota, and Peter hasn't nearly done enough to merit a shot. If he fights Vitali now his career might be ruined, and he is too young.

Bahhh, I'll wait a week and download the clip just like when Danny Williams got curb stomped.

Oh well, at least we still have Pacquaio/Morales.

Sounds like Rahmans plan for more money backfired big time.

This is a good news for Barret and very good lesson for Rhaman.
Even if Barret lose he can present himself from a good side and this will raise his standings in the rankings. Also he could be offered a similar paychek as Rhaman, that would be cool.

This is going to turn out like vitali-Williams. Vitali by TKO 8.
