No, that is just called a smart decision. What if Eubank Jr was cut and was stopped because of the cut from a punch, or he tore a muscle, he could lose. Rematch clauses are the way to go. Every day one fighter wakes up wishing he had put in a rematch clause; Lomachenko. That's all anyone needs to know.

Rematch clauses are B.S. in regular non-title fights, for that matter even championship matches. You lose get back in line, let other condenters have a shot. Rematches will happen if they are both willing to fight again, and of course if it is going to be a money maker. If a manditory is next so be it. They can rematch later for a optional defence and and by public demand. IMO1Eriugenus likes this.

I'm not betting, the odds seem about right. Not sure what 'The Dark Lord' Booth can bring out of Williams. He does have some skills & I'm sure Booth will point out to Williams that no-one has had success trying to steamroll CEJ but BJS & Groves both enjoyed success on the back foot. That side of the fight is pretty settle but, on the other side, I've got no idea how RJJ might try to improve CEJ. Will he want CEJ to start fighting like he did? Will he only marginally tweak CEJ? Nobody knows.

Agree with Praxst. There is no justification for rematch clauses. If a fight ends unsatisfactorily, due to injury or a terrible officiating decision, the public will want the rematch anyway.

That being said I’ve got Eubank by KO.

I think Eubank is probably the favourite and I think he’s a bit bigger too. I see him as a 160/168 Williams as a 154/160, I think that might play a part given their style, unless Williams tries to box a bit more which always gives Eubank issues, but I haven’t seen Williams fight on the back foot since very early in his career where he would in parts of fights.
Interesting Williams has linked up with Adam booth, his fighters are often sharpshooting patient counterpunchers. generally work against Eubank but you don’t really see Williams as that kind of fighter. George Groves schooled Eubank with that Adam Booth style even though he wasn’t with Booth anymore, he was still very much in that style. It’ll be interesting to see if Liam Williams adopts a similar style or if he ever can. If he could, it could be interesting.
If williams boxes smart he could pick up a decision, been a while since I've seen the Smith fights but he was unlucky boxed well in the first fight before getting cut and I thought he was unlucky not to get the decision
problem is he's a hot head, can definitely see him playing to the Welsh crowd going against the gamelan and getting dragged into a war, getting stopped.
