One minute he was working to take step aside money but now he is pumped to beat Usyk. Stop it Fast Eddie. He actually might get stopped this time around 'cos all the prevailing circumstances suggest he was never confident of winning a rematch. As a matter of fact, if you observe closely, he was already mentally check out in the 12th round of the last fight. He does have the best resume of all the current crop so can't take that away from him but this very well may be the end of him. Confidence and mental strength is paramount is the boxing game and he seem to be lacking at this point in both area.Comment

Was he really working to take step aside money though? The vibe I got all along was that Joshua was not keen on a step aside. They listened to some offers that sound extremely half-baked. It would have been ****** not to listen to what was on offer, but it did seem to me like Joshua was grudingly listening to offers at Eddie's recommendation. If Joshua was amenable to a step aside, why would Fury go off on one on social media about how terrible they were at business for torpedoing the step aside discussion? One minute he was working to take step aside money but now he is pumped to beat Usyk. The one bit I would agree on is that if Joshua loses, it may be the end of him. I think it could well usher in retirement, albeit there might be one or two fights more. But who knows, really.Comment

Obviously Hearn doesn't know the outcome of the fight yet to come, but let's have a reality check when it comes to what he said about the first fight.
These are his actual words from two days before the fight:
"[usyk is] Maybe the No 1 heavyweight in the world - this is the scary thing. You go back to great cruiserweights in the world that have gone up to heavyweight. You talk about Evander Holyfield. It took him a couple of fights for people to recognize him as a true threat to the division. Usyk has boxed Witherspoon and then Chisora. People are saying, 'Has he got it, has he not?' Maybe now he does! I hope he doesn't but he might do. It's a great battle of minds as well. One thing that's so scary about Usyk - is his mind and his ability to work out an opponent, and to out-think them."

Oh you mean the one that was pencilled in for Feb yet 5 months later still no date or venue xD
Cowards.
Should have done the honourable thing like the greats & take the L moved on & earned another shot so the division stays strong.
But ya know... Rematchroom.Comment

Joshua needs to talk with Tim Witherspoon.
He can help improve him with his old school Philly boxing knowledge, I'm 100% sure of it.Comment
