Nobody really deserved to win this fight. I would've been straight with another draw or a NC.
Just watched Calderon-Mayol II...

That I agree, the rest not so much.- The announcers were biased as **** towards Calderon, they were sucking his **** all night from complimenting his legs to saying he was landing punches when they were hitting air or gloves. They weren't giving Mayol any credit and hardly called the shots he landed.
- The fight was hard to score because not many punches were landed but one guy was throwing and trying to make a fight while the other guy was holding and moving while not throwing and landing as many.
- I had Mayol winning and thought the fight could continue, the cut reminded me of Benitez vs Leonard and it probably also reminded the officials that's why they stopped it right away.
- Overall the fight ****** and the real loser was me for downloading it and watching it.
My 2 cents.
Calderon outbox him easy. Calderon landed a couple more punches each round while making him look like a fool.
Defense, RIng generalship and Effective agression also counts on how to score a round.Comment

I don't think many people will agree that Calderon was doing anything easy or made him look like a fool. Plenty of times the crowd yelled "Ole" while Calderon was actually hit with the punches then they stopped yelling that all together.
Calderon is very hard to hit but I'm not giving him points for instead of countering he would jump in and clinch, also I prefer a fighter who is coming forward trying to make a fight while throwing punches.
Calderon won, I won't call it a robbery since it was close and neither guy really had anything to brag about but the guy really gets the benefit of the doubt in a lot of close fights.Comment

@ katz
oh yea the reason why you did not hear ole as much as you didn in the casares 1 fight is because mayol actually was more controlled than casares..
casares was reaching so much that he would run past calderon. in contrast mayol was not reaching as much so its kind of hard to go ole anyway that is just a dumb ass way of measuring a fight based on when the crow goes ole.

Key phrase in your whole argument. You prefer but that doesnt mean its how fights are score.I don't think many people will agree that Calderon was doing anything easy or made him look like a fool. It doesnt matter if your going forward or backwards as long as you are the one controlling the fight.
Again 4 criteria to score rounds
1.Clean Punching
2.Effective Agressive. Effective, not just Ill throw and go forward ffor teh heck of it.
3.Defense
4.Ring GeneralshipComment

I know the criteria on how to score a fight and yes I prefer the more aggressive fighter to the one who is moving backwards, clinching, not having much punch output. I saw Mayol controlling the fight by making his fight, even though the commentators were saying he looked frustrated I didn't see that. He kept coming and to me Calderon looked uncomfortable grabbing him and moving away. Like I said the fight was very hard to score and I don't think anyone can scream robbery.Key phrase in your whole argument. You prefer but that doesnt mean its how fights are score.
