Because football is the premier sport in the UK and that is what mostly drives subscriptions. More subscribers would mean potentially more people watching Matchroom shows. In the states DAZN couldn't acquire the major American sports, boxing alone wasn't enough to crack America.

yeah not going to outbid Discovery, Inc. which actually GENERATES Billions Annually so they're not just depending on a Billionaire to Foot The Bill until they can turn a profit but also a lot of politics go into these Bidding Rights stuff, they tend to pick and choose who gets the rights to what so yeah BT will likely prefer to sell to Discovery, Inc. instead anywayComment

A question for you or the fella you were responding to…..a valid question I think. What big fights have taken place on dayzin that couldn’t have happened elsewhere? In fact, what superfights have we seen on dayzin that the sports world came to a stop for?Comment

Im still puzzled why anyone thinks it’s a Hearn and Warren thing both guys are just representing their media on different platforms and arent involved in any massive bidding like this one which is a niche sport Boxing and has little to do with the revenue generated by each promotion . More so for DAZN since 40% of its revenue comes from Japan .
It’s like posters wondering why DAZN haven’t claimed rights to NFL ,it’s because it cost around 2 billion to do that and they aren’t in a position to win rights and make profit in the U.S market until they get more subscribers world wide first which is years away . Amazon loses millions to just do Thursday night football games currently, but DAZN isn’t a movie subscription either it’s harder to do a sports streaming service. If DAZN had got rights to BT we’d be getting easier fights to make though , I guess posters would rather celebrate thinking it’s Hearns loss not ours ?
The same miserable posters been wishing for DAZN downfall for years but it’s not going anywhere, it just landed in the U.K it’s not even getting started in the boxing market yet to aggressively grow .Last edited by REDEEMER; 02-04-2022, 03:44 PM.Comment

Since they don't pay for fights anyway and illegally stream them, the practicalities and costs involved don't matter, and so they operate on a purely emotional basis.
