The old guys all fought each other. New match ups are fun and we could use more. Chocolatito vs Rey Martinez and Cuadras vs Bam are intriguing as hell.

Estrada vs Franco is a decent enough matchup. I’d definitely be interested in that fight, Estrada should have too much for him though IMO. I was never that impressed with Franco in the 2 Moloney fights- I don’t really count the no contest.

I think Gonzalez still deserves the chance to avenge his loss to Estrada, I thought he was robbed.

I’d love to see Ioka face Gonzalez or Estrada too, I usually add Nietes to that conversation too but he looks firmly on the decline now.

I agree but I no longer understand what the WBC is doing at 115. Rungvisai-Cuadras II was to be for the vacant Super Flyweight title when Estrada was made Franchise Champion. The Rungvisai-Cuadras II winner was supposed to face the Estrada-Gonzalez III winner.

Rungvisai is due his WBC mandatory shot. I wonder will he be now ordered to fight the Cuadras vs Bam winner or...? Chocolatito is fighting Martinez now so what happens if Rey pulls off the upset? I think for now Estrada-Franco makes sense.

I forgot that Roman Gonzalez is taking a unnecessary risk, you are right, there is no title at stake for 'Chocolatito'. However, Cuadras may have hit the jack-pot fighting Jesse Rodriguez from 108 for the WBC 115 title. Obviously, Sirsacet is going to be due his shot at the winner of Cuadras-Rodriquez, and the winner of Gonzalez vs. Martinez should be called to challenge 'El Gallo' for the 'Franchise' , as initially planed.

We might see all the original match-ups, provided that Choco and Cuadras come-out on top, but if they dont it shakes-up Superfly and upsets are fun, so we might get some surprises or two extra quality fights along the way. I expect both flyweights to put on a good show, I'm rooting for the veterans to whoop these youngsters tho.

It’s become a bit of a mess, if Estrada is ready to fight in the next few months Franco probably makes sense to set up the trilogy fight assuming both win which I assume they will although neither fight is a given.

Bam could very well score the upset IMO, Cuadras has never really looked the same after the Gonzalez fight IMO, I think that fight took a lot out of both men. Then on top of that Cuadras is coming off a tough loss to Estrada. I think it’s an interesting matchup.

Good call. I went to place a wager on Bam only to realize (courtesy of NSB) that he was the favorite. Vegas saw what you saw.

My tin foil hat wonders if SSR was really sick or if he was hoping he could match up with Estrada since they both had their original fights fall through. I believe he's still ranked #1 by the WBC but I will admit I don't know what the protocol is for the Franchise champion.

Cuadras looked good in the Estrada in my opinion, likely would have been a draw if he wasn't dropped late.

I would bet on Bam to beat Estrada, Estrada is a bit overrated and never seemed to be this dominant technical wizard many make him out to be. Whenever he fought top competition he ends up narrowly winning or narrowly winning.

I never bet on it either tbh, SSR will remain the mandatory I’m guessing but the WBC would likely sanction Estrada-SSR 3 for the franchise title if that’s the route they wanted to go.

I have a feeling Bam could vacate as well, I think if Gonzalez beats Martinez we could see Martinez vs Ban for the WBC flyweight title. I think that’s a better weight class for Bam too until he fills out a bit more.

The great thing about 112-115 though is whichever way it plays out they’re pretty much all interesting matchups between the top 8-10 guys.
