Dawejko's done at this point, just goes rounds. Shaw needs someone that will come with their own ambition in his next fight, Jermaine Franklin makes the most sense to me

He wasn't bad, although a touch arrogant IIRC. I think Tarver disappeared from commentary after he got popped for PEDs.

I liked Malignaggi but I understand he wasn't for everyone's taste.

Honestly, there aren't many good color commentators that come from the fight game. Manny Steward is the gold standard IMO. If you're better than Goossen, Lennox Lewis and Sugar Ray Leonard, that's good enough for me.

I have to add Malinaggi on that list as well as Bernstein. You have my exact list

Yeah, Dawejko is done. He used to be better than this and even his own corner seemed disappointed in the effort.

I haven't heard anything about Franklin since he was mentioned as a possible opponent for Whyte's American venture. I don't even think Top Rank promotes him anymore. Franklin is terrible, depending on how motivated he is, he might not be much of an upgrade over Dawejko.

I'd throw Shaw in against Kingsley Ibeh. He's tough and brings it, he's still been Jared Anderson's toughest opponent to date. Would probably be a nice style matchup as well, I'd probably favor Kingsley TBH.

And these games always end up in OT. Doesn't matter if it's basketball, football or women's softball...whatever comes before the main event always takes longer than it's supposed to.

Yeah. I can put Malinaggi on there, but Bernstein ... I don't know, he kind of bugs me sometimes. But you did remind me of one person who is a MUST to be on that list: Col. Bob Sheridan. That man is a must on that list.

Guys like Bernstein, Lampley, Merchant, Tompkins, Farhood I put in a different category. They are either sports journalists or professional announcers/commentators. They are supposed to be more polished with calling fights, at least that's my take.

The color commentators, guys who come from boxing (fighters, trainers, etc) are another category: Raul Marquez, Lennox Lewis, RJJ, Mora, Ward, Bradley, etc.

I give the former boxing trainers and fighters a little more slack since this isnt really thier profession.

As highly touted as Tiger Johnson is, Madrid is landing some leather.
