Whatever his level as a fighter, it is always sad to read about a still-young man taking his own life.

Danm that's sad to hear. Wonder what he did to support himself while he was in "semi retirement".

May he have mercy and peace and joy in the hereafter, after all his suffering.

Many remain silent, but most of us have suffered some form of depression, from mild to moderate to clinical, and it's very difficult. This life can be horrible at times. Don't give up, it's not easy, but you can make it.

For an article referring to someone's suicide, it should have been written with a bit more class. RIP

Sad reading news about suicides. A week ago he posted that his close friend/familiar who he trusted about investing/borrowing ripped him off and asked how to start up from scratch for someone like him who is an old boxer.

Thanks for the insight. That's incredibly sad but unfortunately an all too common story among athletes and associates. I was just chatting about Virchis with another NSB member a week or so ago, may he rest in peace and his family find comfort and solace.

What an incredibly disgraceful article. An obituary is not a place for a writer to share his personal critique of a boxer's fighting style or how unimpressed he was by the deceased's career. Boxingscene should take this down.
