Are we really living in some freak universe where Valdez actually wants this fight? I don't like Shakur at ALL, but lmao

Conceiçaio put the blueprint out imo. Stevenson is gonna do a number and possibly stop or have Valdez' corner throw in the towel. I dont see any other outcome, tea or no tea.

Im surprised Arum didnt make Navarette/Valdez 1st as its a fan friendly money fight. Mexicanos wouldve came oyt in drives if it was held in CAli, NV, AZ or Texas.

Shakur is a better boxer but I really haven't seen a fight where I thought the opponent was going to be a threat going into the fight.

Herring looked like he had his tail between his legs the whole buildup and most certainly in the fight. Dude was sleepwalking

Conceiao is a good fighter, gold medalist; he gets wild but hes in his prime. Oscar struggled but thats good opp

He was likely going to fight Navarette next......yet for some reason there is the idea that Valdez is the one being protected?

Berchelt, Conceicao, SS or Navarette. real witness protection program there

Yup. This is how I see it too. Herring did not look right at all. He looked defeated before he even stepped into the ring and fought like a guy who believed he couldn't win. That's why I think as much as it was a good win for Shakur, it wasn't that good of a win, not the way people are making it sound. Also, Valdez looked off with his fight against Conceciao. Maybe it was the stress of the media and getting caught for PEDs. I don't know. But people are look at this fight as if Valdez has no chance at all, that he's hiding. Yet, we have Reynoso preferring this fight over Navarette. And like you said, Shakur is more dangerous than these other guys? I don't know if anyone remembers, but everyone thought Berchelt was going to blast Valdez out of the ring.

Styles make fights, sure. But Valdez has an amateur background like Shakur, and Conceciao won the gold medal in the Olympics. Shakur won the silver. Not that amateur fighting tells how one will be in the pros, but Conceciao lost that fight, IMO. He started off good but just dropped the ball halfway through.

People might be shocked by this fight coming up. I'm not saying Shakur is going to lose, but I definitely think there's a good chance he loses. You never know. Valdez hits a hell of a lot harder than Shakur, and you just need to get hurt once to have the whole flow of the fight change. Does Shakur have that grit that Valdez has? When I see Valdez vomiting blood all the way to a win, I wonder if Shakur has that same dog in him.

I just saw this, and it reminded me of how much willpower Valdez has, and what a true warrior he is to fight through what he did. Is he being made the underdog too early in his fight with Stevenson? I can see Shakur outboxing Valdez but, at the same time, I can see Valdez overwhelming Shakur and hurting him at some point.

Also, I have word that the fight was signed today.

(I can't post Twitter anymore. Can anyone else?)
If an guy can box at an elite level he can make a boring fight and easily out point anyone. Only exception is a guy like Mike Tyson in his prime.

Will Shakur fight Valdez like he fought Herring?
