Fury vs Wilder 1 - Fury gets knocked down in the 12th round. Eyes shut for a few seconds. Then eyes open and he looks almost paralyzed for a moment. Perhaps 90% of refs would have waved off the fight at that point and frantically called in the medics. Fury would have been told to stay on the floor, the usual medical procedure. Loss 1.
Fury vs Wallin - Fury sustained a huge cut over his eye which was bleeding profusely. Some fights have been stopped with that kind of cut and that amount of blood loss. The cut was from a punch so Wallin would have won the fight by TKO. Loss 2.
Fury vs McDermott 1 - Many thought Fury won that fight. But because the referee was judging the fight solo, his deciding scorecard had Fury winning. Loss 3.
Fury vs Steve Cunningham - Fury ended the fight by forcing his palm into Cunningham's face to blind him and control his head at the same time in order to land a power shot. Illegal move which ref could take points off for. So if Cunningham was given time to recover, instead of being counted out, how does that fight turn out? Loss 4?
So 4 different referees it would have been within their power, and within the rules, to call those 4 fights differently and be justified in doing so.
If they had, Fury could have 3 or 4 losses today! An example of how the element of luck can play a big part in boxing?
