I would think they know him in the UK? He's had 20 of his 22 fights over there. Only makes sense that Andrade would fight him over there!

If Andrade wins at 168 he becomes Canelo's mandatory....It's what everyone wants.

Namibia is a good country. Kautondokwa is from a fairly nice city. This mofo thinks he lives in mud huts.

          January 26, 2022

Demetrius Andrade has decided to move up to 168 to become the mandatory challenger to Canelo Alvarez with the WBO. Part of that decision involves Andrade (31-0, 18 KOs) vacating his WBO 160-lb title before moving up to 168 to face #1 contender with the World Boxing Organization Zach Parker (22-0, 17 KOs) in a title eliminator to determine Canelo’s mandatory...

The straw that broke the camel’s back for Demetrius is that after defending against his WBO mandatory last April against Liam Williams, the sanctioning body recently ordered him to defend against another mandatory in Zhanibek Alimkhanuly.

That would have been a low-money fight that wouldn’t have been easy work for Andrade. The two had a purse bid this week, but Demetrius has no intention of taking that fight.

As a result, Andrade will vacate his WBO 160-lb title and Alimkhanuly will likely face Esquiva Falcao for the vacant WBO title.

“Demetrius Andrade intends to vacate his 160-pound title and move up to 168, sources told @SInow. Andrade’s team is working on completing a deal to face Zach Parker, with the winner to become the mandatory for the [WBO] super middleweight title held by Canelo Alvarez,” said Chris Mannix @SIChrisMannix.

It should be interesting to see if Canelo Alvarez vacates his WBO 168-lb title if Demetrius successfully defeats Zach parker to become the mandatory for the Mexican star.

It would be a miracle if Canelo suddenly started showing interest in fighting Andrade because it’s a bad match-up for him. Canelo does poorly against fighters that move and box the Andrade can, and he’s not going to want to take that fight and lose.

It’s too bad that it’s come to this for Andrade because he likely would have stayed at 160 if he could have gotten the big names to fight him.

Lets not forget Akavov and Williams had Andrade on Bamby legs while Vanes Martirosyan actually put him on the Canvas. Lets face it, there are not many championship level Africans in boxing (Indongo, Commey and the guy who got beat by Sunny Edwards at flyweight?? at the top of my head). The championship pool is mainly made up of Americans, Latinos and Europeans - again hence why I used that term. There was no malice intended, definitely no racist intent - we are all humans at the end of the day.

I'm sorry but the facts simply don't support your boxing argument. In reality, Zach Parker is irrefutably better than Martirosyan, Aurther Akavov or Liam Willaims and anyone that follows boxing would know that. Parker can box, has a good defense, foot work, heavy hands, decent hand speed and very, very good timing. On top of that Parker is the naturally bigger man, far and away a more difficult opponent than Alimkhanuly.

Just in case you didn't know, Parker is also ambidextrous, a switch hitter.

Quigley has a bigger fanbase over there too, but they still had the fight in the USA in front of 12 Andrade fans.

Parker claims that Andrade is avoiding him. Zach Parkers promoter, Frank Warren, is pushing hard for Parker vs Andrade.

They tried to work the "St. Patrick's Day" angle. That holiday is a very big deal in New England, especially Boston!

It depends upon who is paying the bills. Frank Warren and manager Rooney want the fight in England.

Not been to Namibia but 3 times to Ghana. There are loads of poor people there but equally many folk driving around in BMWs and Mercedes 500s plus villas with swimming pools, air-conditioned malls - and that was 25 years ago - lol. Namibia I think has a better economy than Ghana - it got a lot of support from South Africa + plus has a lot of mining activity.
