Eddie left Sky saying they weren't offering enough money, but they have been splashing it for fun - Obviously things change once Eddie left and the budget probably got bigger to compete, but still.
Marku isn't a huge signing, but I know Hearn would've wanted him for his Albanian following. DAZN better start spending, because momentum in these signings are not with them.
Cannot believe Eddie let Sky get Marku. Should've splashed out on him. If Eddie doesn't get Ben Whitaker and Yafai, then he's missed a trick.
He would've definitely tried signing Marku (and the other Olympians), but it doesn't look like he can compete right now. Either money or Sky itself is the draw.
Realistically, it looks like Matchroom need DAZN to buy BT Sports if they are to compete at all in the UK market, because they are struggling to secure any signings now.

Well he can now use this as a reason as to why we won’t get Benn-Marku.
Eddie truly feels he can make Benn a worldwide star. He doesn’t want anything getting in the way of that, heck he won’t even give Broner a tuneup first! This is a small price to pay for Eddie, I doubt he will lose much sleep over Marku.
wanna end it by saying that I agree with everything you wrote.

Hearn grossly overestimated himself and DAZN.
He also criminally UNDERRATED Sky Sports pulling power. He felt it was all him and that sky were ****** for losing him.
We have obviously seen the truth play out in front of our very eyes. Hearn has tanked in America. And he’s made a error thinking DAZN are gonna be big in U.K. The only way to achieve that now is like someone else posted - Buy BT Sports.
DAZN will then have to admit they don’t rely on their boxing service and would rely on football fans subscribing. It’s been fun to watch the demise.

I said they need to buy BT Sports, but I disagree that's it fun to watch the demise. That's a sad outlook on life when you wish people to fail, you're better than that surely.
Eddie has done a great job in the UK - and actually he's single handedly carrying DAZN in the US - whether its working is an interesting story, but it's all him really.
However, I agree with some of what you say. It does look like he's got it wrong here, the BT Sport deal is huge. DAZN need to close it quickly and give Eddie some more cash.

No I genuinely enjoy watching it. Because it’s a man whose made his joy evident at lots of fighters worse moments. He’s a POS and he hasn’t done as great in the U.K. he’s done well for a select few fighters from Britain.
i guess we have different outlooks on it. Which is cool, I certainly respect your opinion.
I've got to admit that I'm glad Boxxer is keeping boxing alive and well on Sky. This signing is probably a pretty shrewd one, I don't think Marku is going to be a worldbeater but he's popular and draws eyes to shows.
