That's the nature of the business, the young lions are always calling out the old guard. This doesn't only apply to boxing, but life in general.

Benn had no amateur record and is 20 fights in.

Your beloved Wilder an Olympian medalist fought Owen Beck at 23 fights in who had lost his last 6 fights.

      Dear God you're a hypocrite.

We talking about the same person here? the fighter that doesnt let his hands go. The fighter that i have betted on so many times and he loses and draws with garbage fighters. After losing to Maidana he has been absolute dog ****.... Big mouth with no skills....i'm not even aware with what's happening in his personal life i don't follow boxers.

It comes off particularly pathetic that his trainer is calling other fighters "weak" for calling him out. Broner never had a problem running his mouth, calling out fighters and referring himself as the "Can Man".

Now AB can't handle the fact promoters and fighters want him in the ring because he's viewed as an easy win and a name on their ledger? Sad.

I don't like Hearn but cats on here criticizing him for wanting to get Benn a fight with AB crack me up. They didn't have a problem with other promotions trotting out washed up fighters like Devon Alexander, James Kirkland, Andre Berto and Robert Guerrero for their prospects to collect a win on....

Hooker is a better choice but even he is a relatively light puncher who comes from a lower weight class. Benn needs to mix it up with a full fledged currently ranked welterweight

Hooker is 5'11, and outgrew 140 nearly 2 years ago! He couldn't even fight Prograis, and that was big money fight for him. Remember, although Hooker was in trouble, the fight was stopped because he broke his hand, hitting Ortiz in the face/head! I think he's a step up from Granados. I would rather Benn (IBF # 7) vs. Yelelussinov (IBF # 14).

1st let's be clear and honest Jovanie Santiago beat his a(ss) too! It' will be nearly impossible to change a fighter who fights like a survivor and club fighter back to a world class level not to mention his dedication and lifestyle. I'm one who use to follow him and support his accomplishments but enough is enough, he should move on to the next chapter of his life without going to prison because often times that's what it seemed like.

Yeah but Broner is less the "old guard" and more like, idk, some old drunk hobo who's been nothing other than an object of pity and / or disgust for years. When was the last time he had a win that was remotely convincing, much less against anyone who was relevant to anything at the time?

let’s not act like wilder had some extensive amateur career. He started boxing very late just like Benn and only had 30 fights over a 2 1/2 yr period. Just barely over 6 yrs into his professional career he fought for his first world title. Connor Benn had 22 amateur fights and is currently in his 6th yr as a pro.

To me Broner is the biggest waste of talent of the last 20 years. He could have really done something if he was dedicated and had his head on straight.

Once he couldn’t weight bully guys at lower weights and his partying caught up to him he was cooked.
