I don't think anyones said he was in his prime I think the article said he was fighting like a 29 year old fighter in their prime and he is

Donaire has slowed down a lot but hes adapting and using his strengths in the ring these days

When his legs started to slow he still tried to fight like he had all his major advantages he had in his youth

These days he waits for the right punches and relies on his power but its also a far more dangerous game hes playing but it's working well bit it will be short lived if he keeps fighting the best

That's what is crazy to me. You are just a direct hater if you don't like watching Donaire. He's a boxing puncher and has given fight fans so many amazing fights to watch. It's like, how hard do you have to pick him apart just to find something to hate on because you hate him? Makes me wonder why even be a fan of boxing if a guy as exciting as Donaire is to watch doesn't do it for you. Do you just prefer a Wlad-Povetkin kind of fight? Does that tickle your marbles?

Yup. Guys like Barrera did this to extend his career, Pacquiao obviously and Donaire. You can't perform like your prime when a lot of those prime physical gifts are gone. You have to adapt to stay relevant. I think that is why Roy Jones Jr. failed so bad. He was so in love with his prime self and able to get away with so many mistakes that he never corrected them or adjusted for his loss in speed/power as he got older. If you want to stay relevant and have a long lasting career in boxing, you have to adjust to your bodies limitations as it ages.

Boxing is tribal. The only reason I see people hating on Donaire is because hes a Filipino. I understand there being some competitive rivalry but at some point real gotta recognize real.

Much respect to my fellow Catholic brothers from the P.I.

Its a 40 year old man performing almost just as good as when he was in his 20s. As a man ages he loses testosterone and his body is not able to do the things it once did. Paulie Malignaggi said it best. You idiots wanna believe all these athletes are “great” all on their own lmao you probably also believe manny pacquiao moved up 8 weight classes “naturally” huh lmao go to sleep moron.
