He isn`t! He is limited - he showed that against Kotelnik. BUT!!! I just think that Khan doesn`t have the tools to protect his own chin for 12 rounds against Marcos... HE also doesn`t have the power to stop him... I just think , that stylistycally Khan cannot take such preassure...

Khan does have the power to stop him. Maidana has a weak chin...although not Khan weak.

I wouldn't say weak. I'm pretty sure Ortiz nailed him on the chin when he dropped him, and he wasn't really hurt or dazed and Ortiz has good pop at 140. IMO it's average.

        Still, Khan would UD him.

if the khan/maidana fight happens it would be very interesting..khan can put on a clinic if he keeps his poise and uses his jab effectively and good footwork as well to keep out of harms way..but thats the problem i see with him currently..he has a tencancy to cover up and take a lot of uneccessary punches (whether they land clean or not) instead of using head movement and ring movement to get out harms way..against a big puncher such as maidana, he could get into a lot of trouble..be broken down and end up being ko'ed late in the fight..as long as khan uses the ring well/jabs and throws combos like he knows how and then get the fck out..he should be able to pull the UD..just have to hope the fight happens...

It would be a tough fight for him stylistically, but one he has to take and to win if he's to remain a credible prospect at world level, and a credible title holder (unless Maidana loses again first). With Roach in his corner I'm sure he can solve that stylistic problem. It just means improving his ring generalship a little, and he's still got a few months in which to improve with Roach's help before they could meet.

Already, he has started to clinch effectively whenever he's under real pressure, something he never used to do, and which is a big part of solving the problem of a pressure fighter. He also uses his jab far more effectively now, and he has a superb jab. And he's much harder to hit cleanly than he used to be, and his footwork is far better.

And too much is made of the weakness of his chin. He used to throw his chin into the punches coming towards it, doubling the effective force of impact. That had far more to do with his chinnyness than any physical defect. He doesn't lead with his chin any more, because his offence is much more disciplined; and he rolls with the punches that do get through, which he never did before.

I agree. But, also think a lot of fans are down on him cuz of the prescott loss. And, at the same time I don't think he will be this great fighter. I just think he will be a solid top 10 fighter. Who will be in the sport for a long time.
