Ha... I was rewatching the Ceja fight and thinking just how very mediocre Magsayo looked. I still think he's nothing special but props to the dude I guess, think he lucked out here but that's boxing. At least it gets the title moving again - maybe.

After the first round I was already figuring I'd made a mistake though, though I still think Gary would have outpoointed him easily without the shoulder.

SceneBoxer (with a 2x on Magsayo - good move!), Blaster1, Superbee and myself appear to be this weekend's right-picking poker.

Too bad Magsayo didn't knock Russell out as he could have done with Gary injured. Hell, he almost tried to throw the fight into the trash bin...

Thus, I still managed to lose money.

what I took from the fight is that Magsayo has really poor ring IQ. He has a one-handed fighter infront of him and didnt rough him up to make him feel his injury or target the shoulder with his punches. He also never closed the distance from the angle of the shoulder injury which allowed Gary to still be in the fight and land the cleaner punches.

I suspect that Magsayo was looking for the one big shot to the body, which never happened. He thought he could knock Russell out via a single body punch. After a few rounds he stopped trying and, as you correctly point out, we all noticed how poor his tactics were.

Haha! Bravo! I didn't even think about betting on that fight. Happy for your win!

I wasted a tenner on a draw in the Matias fight, though...
