HBO getting out of boxing and Showtime cutting back their shows really hurt I think.
Boxing hasn’t been a major sport for a long time but having those premium networks putting on shows and a lot of good non PPV fights was huge.
Helped build a lot of young stars that could be PPV draws one day.
Now it’s hard to build up new stars and harder to make the fights people want to see when they should happen.

Boxing is in trouble unless they fix the alphabet soup and most importantly start making the fights that need to be made.

Boxing is a Sport of Mystery. Always has been and always will.
All you need are a few adjustments with future fights, and we’re back in the good!

So no... it will never die out. The only people holding the sport back are the promoters but other then that I dont care for boxing being a fringe sport with not as much exposure as for ex. soccer/basketbal or other g*y sports.
          Wow, pretty good breakdown man.
          Well said.

Wide world of Sports was one of the best things going back in the day. Espn fnf, USA channel's fight nights and HBo/Showtime came after and did a good enough job to get people talking but at this point its talked about less imo. The apps arent good enough and pbc never made the fights they could have. The U.S. shouldve regulated boxing back when Reid and McCain put upntheir joint bill to create 1 authority. That wouldve created a commission/authority to something similar to how the ufc kind of is. I remember McCain saying 1 belt per weight class. Even til this day the U.S. is the Captiol when it comes to boxing......

I Grew up with fam having boxing parties/get togethers damn near every month and followed suit as i bought my houses. I used to have BIG parties for ppvs. Sh.it I havent had one in damn near 10 years. Its a shame tbh. I grew up with 2 uncles that were champs back in the late 80s and early 90s and even they same the same thing, there just isnt great fights being made to garner the audience as of now.

            One could only wish
            Very interesting input man.
Wow sounds like you have been around in the sport that's awesome. I can only imagine the good times back in the day with great boxing events.
The way you explained it all in a generational sense kind of made me post this topic, to see if the sport really is in trouble or not.
It seems like throughout the years, the sport has been degenerating bit by bit...

Fox also likes that they can replay the PPV on FS1 and FS2 repeatedly and fill a four hour block every time they play it.
              Wow, interesting info.
              Thanks for the input definitely

I would say boxing in America is in somewhat of a slump, but from a worldwide perspective its doing well.

Promoters not working together continues to be a hinderence but generally the sport is still highly profitable and has maintained participation levels at the grass roots.
                Well said man.
Yeah it looks like worldwide it is doing just fine you're right.

Boxing will be totally fine, PBC not going away and neither is Top Rank, Matchroom or any of these Major Promotions/Ent!ties. If things don't work out with one Network or App, another one will jump in and make the investment into it.

Some fans hoping, wishing and praying guys fail are wasting time and energy. 2022 Fight Schedules are coming, things will pick back up and I think most fans will be happy with most of these Fights Schedules but of course the Miserable F^cks on this forum won't be happy no matter what but things will pick up for everybody. Every year Fight fans CRY and every year somehow boxing find a way to keep us entertained even when they're not give us all the fights we want

nobody is forcing us to keep watching boxing, fans can easily F^CK OFF to another sport at anytime so yeah I don't stress over not getting the fights I want as much because I'm into NFL, NBA and for my Combat Sports FIX when Boxing is not delivering good cards, I just turn to UFC which has a huge Heavyweight Fight coming up here soon

it is dying because its mostly on apps now and the top fights arent being paid, promoters not working with one another etc. Also the ratings for boxing in the us suck now. public has lost interest

If they keep putting up fights no one wants to see and let them freaking YouTubers keep turning this sport in a circus then it's facked to the a s s.
