You're encouraging this ****? This is what's wrong with Boxing. You encourage Canelo to sidestep Beterbiev Bivol and Smith Jr and jump a weight class above to fight a nobody and then leave the weight class with his red balls between his legs like he did at 175. Just ****in stop it already.

Why not let Canelo fight Makabu. Canelo isn't retiring before 36 years old. Going up to challenge the extent of his 5 foot 8 body before ultimately settling into 175 or 168 is not a bad fight. It's not like he can run from anybody. Everybody, with the exception of Beterbiev, is around his age or younger. Benavides will get more dangerous. Bivol, Charlo & Joe Smith will stay dangerous.

What’s so bad about Makabu? He’s a top Crusierweight and quality Crusierweight. He’s beaten multiple top 10 guys there and deserves his ranking.

Canelo’s moving up 2 weight classes to fight a top Crusierweight world champion.

Makabu is Tony Bellew’s best win by far. When Bellew beat him (as an underdog by the way), it was seen as a massive win.

Canelo moving up 2 weight classes to do it is a joke ? Makes no sense.

why do you think hes been fighting at 168? that division had nobody. he couldnt stay at 175 because 175 had beterbiev and bivol. 2 elite fighters. now if canelo wasnt a 175 pound fighter of course he doesnt have to fight them butttt...now hes fighting at cruiser! its the im too small routine all over again. you might say oh well this is the first time hes done something like this...wrong! remember when he fought at 155 while saying im too small for ggg? then he fought chavez jr at super cause it was an easier fight! sayin im too small to fight certain uys and then fighting bigger guys then the guys you are too small to fight is the definition of ducking and cherry picking, and he cant even use the "well its a big money fight" excuse cause no one in the world knows makabu, not even his own family

canelo trying to match tony bellew in greatness. whats the point of moving up in weight to fight a good but unremarkable fighter? seems kind of pointless, especially when you have much better fights in divisions you said you were too small to compete in. id rather canelo prove he was best at 175 as opposed to proving he was third or fourth best at cruiser but oh well

You love rankings though right? So surely this is a great fight for Canelo in your eyes?

Canelo’s a young guy. He has loads of time to return to 175.

A title win against a top Crusierweight is a very good achievement.

If any other fighter moved up two weight classes to fight a legit, top ranked fighter it would be considered a good win.
