With Ped testing in place, shakur wins in dominant fashion. Hopkins vs Trinidad style. Even if there isn’t ped testing, shakur still probably wins.

Hopefully Stevenson got it written up so that VADA testing starts before the ink is dry on the contracts!

Lame. Stevenson has got real talent but Valdez is a complete hypejob. These promoters are just constantly aligning things to match Mexico vs America, because that seems to sell tickets well in the US, but the sport is suffering for it. Would have much preferred Loma vs Stevenson. Valdez is the minor leagues I don't care who he matches with. When he's facing someone good it's just a waste of time. I'm not an expert but apparently there is some bad history between blacks and ***s, especially in New York, and I guess before that with slavery in the U.S. where there was some ***ish involvement (along with Christians etc, not just ***ish of course). If others know more than I do they can weigh in. Whether this has any cultural relevance to the Arum and Crawford situation specifically, I don't know either.

Completely agree with you, Valdez has a punchers chance but Stevenson isn’t taking any risks

but at the same time, besides loma, what other fights are out there for him at 130 at top rank

I don't get excited for fights anymore due to so many cancellations. Until both of these mfers are in that ring on fight night, I'll hold my excitement.

Even most the fights that don't get canceled end up being crap, so I think it's smarter just to not get excited period, and find better ways to spend our time.

I can see Stevenson lighting him up like he did with Herring. Valdez is fast, but not faster than Shakur

Valdez might not be as fast as Stevenson but he does have decent timing and that left hook of his is the best weapon he has. If he wants to make it a tough fight he has to commit to the body the first half of the fight and try and connect big shots down the road. Another thing Valdez has going for him is the ring experience, he is a seasoned fighter and the toughest fighter that Stevenson has faced so far. Either way it should be a decent fight
