It’s funny how Callum Smith, Billy Joe Saunders and Caleb Plant were supposedly easy opponents when all three would be career-best wins for the guys Canelo is supposedly ducking.

styles make fights. Billy joe and Caleb cant punch. Charlo and benavidez can.

Can canelo beat both? Yes. But its only 1 way to find out and it aint on the Internet

People criticize Canelos potential fight at CW, claiming it’s a cherry pick when you got guys like Charlo (who is naturally bigger than Canelo) refusing to fight above 160. It’s almost comical. If it’s so easy why doesn’t he go up and do it? Why won’t David do it? They rather shrink down as much as possible so they can bully the little guys. (More so Charlo than David since David is still a kid & Charlos in his 30s)

ppv fighters are supposed to be held to a higher standard because they are selling a fight for 75 to 100 dollars. So the opponent should always be notable.

De la hoya showed you how this works. He fought prime mosley. Prime floyd. Prime pacquiao. Prime Vargas. Prime Trinidad. Prime quartey. End of prime hopkins. End of prime Whitaker.

You dont duck no smoke in or around your division especially when it's more lucrative. Canelo just got 40 million for a pbc ppv. Why would you go back to 20 million on dazn to fight a no name cruiserweight when you can get another 40 million on a pbc ppv against your choice of charlo or benavidez. It makes sense and cents for canelo

Predicting and recommending/offering advice two different things...but I hear you. BTW I am not a Canelo fan but can apperciate his resume.

Keith “Bum Time” (or fights “Sometimes) Thurman has some real nerve. Not only did he enjoy getting that PBC padded record luxury cash grab plan—but now he’s saying a guy who just unified in 11 months “cherry picks”. That’s rich coming from that guy. I think the only bigger pbc business model poster boy would be Danny Garcia… but Keith is top of the heap.

In a perfect world they would do that. How many subpar opponents have we seen PPV fighters put on ? Floyd vs Guerrero, Floyd vs Berto, Pac vs Algeri, PacBradley3… this list goes on.

no one is forcing anyone to buy a PPV. No one says Canelo has to fight on PPV. If Canelo decides to fight Joe Blow next week on PPV, don’t be mad at Canelo, be mad at the people who buy it & have allowed these PPVs to happen.

Like I said I’m not even the biggest Canelo fan but I call it like I see it. I don’t see Canelo ducking anyone right now. Last guy he ducked was GGG. & even though I felt he lost both fights I give him his respect for at least taking the fights. When can go on and on about how he dragged his feet to do so, but that’s water under the bridge now. There was a time when the general consensus was that Canelo couldn’t beat GGG - which is essentially why he dragged ass. There isn’t that same feeling when it comes to David or Jermall. Canelo beats them both imo. And when he does they’ll be discredited as two guys who never beat anyone. (& rightfully so)

Jermall can’t beat Canelo & David isn’t ready yet. I couldn’t care less about PPV, DAZN or any other irrelevant crap. My point still stands - if his opponents are so easy, why aren’t these other guys fighting them? Why aren’t they fighting each other? Why aren’t they moving in and out of divisions. Because they can’t or because they’re afraid to

Cant or afraid too dont hold up when

Caleb plant was called out for 2 years by benavidez. No fight.

billy joe saunders failed a drug test the week of his fight against andrade. No fight

so the facts show that andrade and benavidez were chasing those same opponents. So i disagree with your nobody is doing what canelo is doing argument. They tried.

And Robert guerrero, tim bradley, andre berto were all hbo headliners for half of a decade. So even though we wanted manny and floyd to fight somebody else. We knew who those guys were because we had been watching them heaqdline fights on hbo. Nobody ever heard of makabu until canelo said his name. Its the equivalent to pacquiao fighting jeff horn

Canelo has earned the right to fight whoever he wants whenever he wants. No question about it. But there is no doubt that he wanted no part of Andrade at 154 and could have Been the Undisputed world champion had he fought Andrade later at 160 when Andrade held the last belt and Canelo refused.

This isn’t the Old Days when nobody ducked anyone. Duran, Hagler, Leonard, Hearn, Ali, Forman, Frazier and literally hundreds of others before them fought everyone and they seeked out the toughest opponents every time. Those days are over…

Canelo doesn’t deserve to be discussed in the same context as those Men. His management carefully handpicks every opponent out there. He wants no part of Andrade (who is trainer said years ago was a great fighter and dangerous and now suddenly he’s garbage) or Benevidez who is the most dangerous opponent of all. Benavides Wrecks Canelo and Charlo easily ! They will avoid him and prey that Benevides gets in trouble again and ruins his own career

because he has so much power is why he cherry picks. if he had to fight good fighters to make a living or get noticed he probably would, but until then hes going to invent divisions and hide out in barren divisions waiting for cherries around him to ripen

I get it, however the “only one way to find out” logic should apply to everyone, not just Canelo. Yes, Charlo and Benavidez can punch, and they should punch each other to establish a clear #1 challenger.
