Eddie Hearn is making the right move.
From the perspective of the fighter, he did nothing wrong.
He was ahead, and he closed the show.
So, Hearn is standing up for his fighter.
If only all promotors had their fighter's best interests at heart.

Now, as it turns out, the bell rang.
But apparently no one could hear the bell, including the ref.
The fighter did what fighters do.
      He kept throwing punches.
The ref did what refs do.
He stopped the fight when it looked like it was getting out of hand.

Hearn is doing nothing wrong here.

However, the fact is, the bell DID ring.
Even if no one in the ring heard it.
And the WBA should make things right by declaring the fight a no contest.

It's a very unfortunate state of affairs all around.
But neither the fighters nor the promotion did anything wrong.
Heck, at this point, even the WBA hasn't done anything wrong.
      It was a fluke thing.
      The crowd was LOUD.
And they were ringing the hell out of that bell.
But in the heat of the action, no one in the ring heard it.

What needs done at this point is for the WBA to make this a no contest.
      That's all.

Only thing to do is an immediate rematch and NC. Soro should've been protected but wasn't.

I feel like if there is one reason beyound what happened in the ring and after the "unfortunate result" by all those concerned is this or rather him. Abel Sanchez his time with and his position in boxing and his associates will help Soro out more then anything. Seem to remember the fight either not getting much exposure due to several cards that weekend or something along those lines wasn't there numerous cards that weekend and it kind of got burried as a result of that seems I talked about that at the time it happened. Boxing promoters do not like it when things like this get in the way of there plans for there fighters.

First off, let me correct my own error. The fight was in Uzbekistan as opposed to Kazakhstan. I had Kazakhstan on my brain because another post had mentioned GGG.

I do recall that weekend and you are correct, it was packed with alot of televised boxing events. The Uzbek card happened on a Friday IIRC and shared that date with Beterbiev/Browne. The following day you had Parker/Chisora, Paul/Woodley, Zurdo/Yuniesky, Morrell/Fox, Berenchyk/Chaniev and several other notable cards sprinkled around the globe. I remember because it took me forever to get through watching all of those fights.

Let's hope the correct ruling gets made with this fight.

First question is: had the bell not rung, would it have been a good stoppage? I think so. Soro had been seriously buzzed, was getting hammered and was not firing back. Now, the 3 extra seconds surely did help Madrimov get the stoppage, but to pretend Soro would have been fine the next round and would have mounted a comeback, well.. anything is possible, but I don't think so.

Everybody is taking around in circles. The direction of the WBA is CLEAR. Whether they heard the bell or not is debatable, but it doesn't matter; the bell is made to be heard, and perhaps it was.

The guy should have bene instantly DQ'd. I see that nobody has thought of this neccessary decision. One punch after the bell I can see. But SEVEN..... The judges and timekeeper knew and it is their authority which counts.

There is the famous case of Nat Fleischer, the publisher-founder of RING, When Sonny Liston went down in the second Ali fight, the count had reached 10 but because of the crowd nobody heard it. Jersey Joe, the very inexperienced ref, didn't know what to do. Neither did Sonny, who got up and recommenced boxing. Fleischer shouted that the fight is OVER, the count of 10 was reached.

And indeed, it WAS over. Liston became a 1st round KO victim and that was THAT.

The same this should happen HERE !!!
