Promoters are like pimps and fighters are like **********s

You can't market an ugly girl with a high asking price and expect a lot of customers. That's exactly the story of Top Rank and Crawford.
Top Rank doesn't promote period, pimps don't promote either. They just want a nice product that sells itself like DLH, Cotto, Mayweather, etc. They didn't do squat, promotion-wise for these fighters.

De La Hoya is special, he can be a pimp and a ********** at the same time.

i agree with some of what OP is saying, i get that promoters often dont do their actual job of promoting. i feel no sympathy for crawford though who has had plenty of nationally televised fights, plenty of exposure on social media and all that and still cant sell. i would feel bad for the undercard guys but crawford getting paid 3-4 million to fight soviet bloc cabbage fighters on espn is a damn good deal for him

Unfortunately thats how it is when in fact, it should be the other way around! You, the boxer, is supposed to tell the promoter who they want to fight and get the money for it. These punkas.s promoters/managerial companies have too much power and more often than not put up sh.it fights.
