The problem is that you keep contextualizing GGG, Canelo and Charlo at 160 performances. Canelo is the proven talent. Canelo at 160 Weigh ins looked Too thin. The resistance Changes and we dont know how GGG or Charlo perform above 160. This isnt theory. These are proven circumstances.

I think Charlo will do better at 168. He has always been BIG and STONG, massive massive delts and chest but iron abs. Canelo will be scared to target the body because he has iron durability, isn't flabby like GGG and Kovalev. He knows he won't be able to Bother him to the body but will risk getting countered upstairs. I expect to see a much more cautious canelo. The same strategy that worked against the european fighters won't work vs. Charlo.

Did people not watch the Montiel fight? If this guy beats Canelo it would be a miracle.

Youre taking the piss. Dont fold in character. Youre on that wishful thinking gimmick. Dont feel bad. Its Charlo!

Derev had Charlo visibly hurt to the body in their fight. Don't remember what round it was though but I definitely remember him being bothered by a shot. Not to the extent that Golovkin was but no one is invincible to a great liver shot.

Edit: just watched rounds 4-10 and I didn't see the shot I thought I remembered. Could be completely wrong of what I saw. Still, a solid liver shot will hurt anybody but Charlo is definitely sturdier in the midsection than GGG and Kovalev. Golovkin used to have a strong as **** core but after 2016, he gained too much in between fights and wasn't in the same shape he was 2015 and earlier.

The issues that fighters are having trouble with Canelo is they can't simply keep him off of them. He closes the distance and he is accurate and heavy handed. He has good speed, counter punching ability with excellent defense. Charlo is not a murderous puncher but he did look good against Dervy which he didn't panic with the pressure and kept his composure.

That is a power jab that drops people too and he throws it to the body which will PUNISH canelo's body early in. It could be an interesting and competitive fight.
Yeah he has an excellent jab. Move but don't run and keep that jab in his face. If he can move enough to avoid a lot of punishment without expending too much energy he can do very well. Unfortunately judges especially when it comes to Canelo don't count jabs. Ask Lara and Golovkin. Since Charlo is tall and has a good build to carry the extra weight it will be intersting to see if Canelo tries to put in some sort of weight restriction. Canelo is a good fighter no doubt but not unbeatable.

I feel like a weight restriction would only hurt Canelo if anything. He's fought at 175 and seems huge at 168. Meanwhile Charlo never fought at 168.

Carefully study Canelo’s directional feints so that he knows that actual counters he needs to throw and which spots to guard. Won’t be easy to do at all, Canelo disguises the path of his punches well.
