However, if he continues beating top 10 ranked guys like Williams and potentially Zhanibek, I think that should earn him a lot more respect amongst boxing fans.
I think it's the right move too. Moving up to 168 doesn't guarantee him any fights and it's just as top heavy as 160. Big drop off past the top ten.

Based on him being ranked #6 by Ring, #6 by TBRB, #7 with ESPN. To my knowledge that’s a higher ranked Middleweight than anyone else on Andrade’s resume.

Zhanibek has great amateur pedigree (world champion 2013) and has really looked the part in the pro’s in recent performances against Brant (ranked top 10) and N’Dam.
I think he looks promising but the jury is still out as he hasn't really fought anyone outside of a past it N'dam. Wasn't Brant coming off that knockout from Murata? Or perhaps it was a couple fights ago. Anywho, it remains to be seen what this kid can do, so I don't think he is Andrade's toughest opponent (although I like him), but I guess that's just where we differ in opinion

Who would you say is Andrade's toughest opponent? The great Liam Williams or Vanes?

Neither are great but Vanes is more proven and has fought better comp. So it would be him. Williams also gave Andrade trouble but I don't think he's all that good.

It's a good fight in the context of Andrade's career opponent selection, but this guy could probably use another fight or two...he finally got rid of Ndam but I think he got a little frustrated in the process and was missing more than he'd like..he's an expressive fighter, you could see his facial expressions during that fight.

If Ndam wasn't so shot-to-bits I probably wouldn't be holding it against Janibek since he's just coming along...but now he's gonna fight one of the most frustrating guys in all of boxing, for opponents and fans.

How heavy handed is Alimkhanuly compared to Williams if you’re to guess?

I don’t have much faith in Andrade’s chin against ****ers

I think enough power to hurt Andrade, better variety and speed than Williams. He looks good, - just thought I saw a little frustration trying to pin down Ndam who is always on wobbly boots these days. Good experience to have because Andrade is sure to be frustrating as well.

Been waiting for so long to see Andrade against better names but i'll take if this fight. Even with the small sample size on Janibek as a pro, I think there is enough promise in him to offer Andrade a good matchup to sell

Janibek v the Vanes that andrade fought is what I'm trying to work out in my head. someone handicap that fight?

Good matchup. Janibek has been impressive recently, not just the result but how he's looked in the ring. I recall him struggling with someone not too long ago (Vaughn Alexander perhaps?) where he didn't look good at all.

I think Andrade has a tendency to coast at times but I actually do rate him fairly high. It will be good to see him against an opponent with solid skills, power and athleticism that will be coming to get him.

Could have been against Alexander. That was the first time I saw Alimkhanuly and wasn't impressed at the time.
