Not sure the hate on this thread. Jacobs still is a name and can make some money. He is not fighting any top level competition, but if he did he would get hurt. He has enough left in the tank to fight for a while longer at the "B" level.

More power to him. Sell some tickets, give your best effort. The man has overcome a ton in his life. If he can fight for another year or so and set up his future grandchildren I say all you Mr. Jacobs.

I'll never forget when Jacobs vaporized Peter kid chocolate quillan with that first hard right cross he connected with, and the last one that ended the fight. That's gonna be etched in my mind forever

I like Danny but he is in a steep decline. After he lost to Canelo he has not done much and has not look too good either.

Yep! Those big paydays say a lot about fighters and it's been a tale as old as time! Guys like Floyd, Manny, Canelo, Cotto and several others were used to big paydays and they always came back and gave us more in their proceeding matchups.

Guys like Jacobs hit big and get lazy. I'll admit, he'd done better than most but the theory still stands. Remember Buster Douglas? Dude became champ (and was paid rather handsomely for the Tokyo showdown) and went on face Holyfield for what....over $20M? He got super fat and comfortable and lost it all in that very fight.

Some guys just can't handle big paydays and high profile fights. Danny's a good guy but as you mentioned, it's not hard to tell that the motivation just isn't there like it used to be. Still gave him crazy credit for the Golovkin fight! One of his best outings!
