again neither fighter was willing to budge in weight, that right there delayed the fight.. do you remember ggg offering canelo to meet half way ?? like i said not 1 single pound, so much for MR anyone from 154 to 168 ...

“I'm not a middleweight,” Alvarez said when discussions veered to a potential showdown with IBF and WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin.
hes not a middleweiht...but hes a super middleweight cause he can fight chavez jr! hes not a light heavyweight so he cant fight beterbiev...but hes a cruiserweight!
Next, Canelo fought a series of Canelowt fights against top fighters to stay busy waiting for TBE TUE, eventually attracting Cotto with his WBC middle title who dictated the 155 limit. He then attracts another big $$$ @155 to defend his WBC vs Khan, and then after dispute with Sulieman/WBC trying to dictate his purses, beats Smith for his WBO 154 belt still angling for big TBE TUE money as is U boytoy, Golovkin, remember him groveling for TBE TUE?
So he jumps for a huge Mexican showdown at 164 vs Chavez Jr, and as soon as the Lawsuit is settled where Canelo at then 17 yrs old has to pay $5 mil for Oscar signing him away from the Mexican promoter.
Now he can fight Golovkin on Canelo terms, not Sulieman/WBC terms and battles to a draw. GGG ducked the immediate rematch to take on 154 contender Vanes 2 years inactive, remember those hoots of derision?
Of course not, Golovkin's resident jock strap has to support Golovkin at all times or he/she/it is a goner...

yes the fight could have happened earlier but neither was willing to budge a pound for it, so deal with it.
But he has really convinced me as of late in his undisputed accomplishment.
Plus his being active sets an example for all these complacent champs out there fighting a shameful once a darn year or twice maximum.
So I can't say much against Canelo honestly.
