It completely depends how you analyse it.

If you put the exact Ray Robinson that fought in the 40’s in the modern era he may well struggle, sports science always advances and athletes today are fitter, faster, have better recovery, use a sh** load of PED’s etc etc.

However, if you put Ray Robinson in the modern era and assume he utilises the benefits of modern day sports science, imagine how much better he would’ve been. It’s completely hypothetical obviously.

I think it’s very difficult to match a guy from 70-80 years ago to a modern fighter, the sport has evolved so much. Would it be 15 rounds or 12? What type of gloves would they use? Would a accidental cut result in a stoppage or technical decision?
