if its a chess match then tyson fury being a king cant really do very much, joshua may actually beat him in this case, being a queen, usyk being from ukraine is just a pawn, in russia's game

Should this fight happen, Fury'd better come in sharp and in shape, because Usyk certainly will, haha. Not an easy out for Fury but doable; we'll have to see how he deals with Ollie's feints and feet (I'd say - by trying to maul him). Usyk can win this if Tyson is not on top of his game, especially if he manages to score a flash knock-down or two. We'll also see how Usyk deals with Tyson's inside fighting; being the shorter guy, he could actually make it work to his advantage if he can deal with the size difference (although I'd wager he's physically strong enough to hold his own, we'll see). Fascinating match-up! I'm still leaning Fury by UD, though.Comment

Oleksandr Usyk's assistant coach, Sergey Lapin, believes a fight with WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury would be a "chess match." There is a huge size disparity, with Fury holding a tremendous physical edge over Usyk, who last year outboxed Anthony Joshua over twelve rounds to capture the IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO world titles.

So.... I do not want to be "that guy" all the time. But......
No one can take away Fury's God given advantages of size. Also, we can erase Usyk in any real world scenario KO-ing Fury. If Wilder couldn't, Usyk is not equipped to. Those are both statements of facts.
But honestly when has Fury EVER matched up with someone like Usyk? Usyk knows angles and defense better than anyone Fury has fought. Usyk has shown on every level to have the ability to train to his opponents strengths and weaknesses. Not adjust in the ring, TRAIN. He will fight plan for a power puncher completely different than technical boxers. He understands when to press and when to lay back in a boxing match much better than any boxer Fury has ever dealt with (although Klitchsko was great at that in all fairness and Fury handled him). When has Usyk ever panicked? Ever seemed flustered? Ever seemed like an event, or another fighter, was too big for him?
If this fight occurs, Fury will be the favorite. Fury SHOULD be the favorite. He has such good footwork, cuts the ring in half at will, and is HUGE compared to Usyk. His jab alone could win this fight as Usyk may never get past it if Fury is really on.
But seriously... Usyk will understand these advantages and come prepared. If anyone would be surprised by an Usyk win, it is simply because you are a huge Fury fan (not an insult, more power to you) or just not really paying attention.Comment

When the big guy is just as nimble just as high iq yet way longer n outweigh you by 50-70lbs and stronger go with the big guy. With wilder you atlesst knew with weight difference yet right hand gives chance against anyone usyk isnt a ko artist 100% fury this fightComment

Like he said, Fury is an established “dirty” fighter. Fury will no doubt hold Usyks head down with the simultaneous MMA uppercuts. Usyk will have to fight fire with fire and slam the giants balls with well placed hooks…..
Furys good boxing skills eventually comes out in the fight after he wears down threatening opponents with his MMA grappling techniques, patented orca leans and the rabid rabbit punches…..This dude is as gangsta as they come…..wouldn’t be surprised if his flap glove reappears for Usyk - with a better ACME flap control…Comment

I don't care what excuse comforts you at night for him being outboxed by a midget who can't punch (even at cruiser)
My main point is the fat boy has never been made to work at uncomfortable pace, he's used to having his own way.
And let's not forget he was embarrassingly easy to hit for an extremely limited Wilder and he hasn't fought an opponent with a modicum of skill since Wlad and has looked defensively poor since his return.
This will be an intriguing matchup and noone can predict how it will actually turn out.Comment

You do realize Joshua and Wilder both landed roughly the same percentage of their shots against Usyk and Fury right - 19 vs 20%? What does that make Usyk if Joshua landed an even higher percent of his power punches than Wilder did?
This will be an intriguing matchup and noone can predict how it will actually turn out.
The difference is no one claims Joshua is some Defence Wizard like they do with Fury.
And yet somehow a mediocre boxer like Wilder is landing similar % of punches when the guy is as good as out on his feet for the majority of the fight, make that make sense...
P.S. I don't really take compubox or similar things too seriously, having some old man who can barely see the laptop he's staring at tap a button every time he thinks a punch has landed isn't very accurate or reliable.Last edited by Boro; 01-09-2022, 05:11 AM.Comment
