its a coping mechanism and a poor one. pretending everything is fine when you know it isnt. yeah financially he is set for life. but as far as proving himself as the best of this generation, thats nearly out the window.
Even if AJ beat Usyk and fury this year, which is the best possible year for him, The public would demand a fury rematch based on furys record. so he would be going into 2023 being 1-1 against ruiz and 1-1 against cruiserweight Usyk, and that is best case scenario and could he defeat fury twice? doubtful. its nearly impossible for anyone to believe AJ was the best this generation and the next wlad who had an 11 year winning streak
You see the same post fight reactions after losses in guys like Mikey Garcia last fight and victor ortiz. trying to play it off like they dont really care and the win wont set them back but they know it willComment

In the moment of the loss, Joshua does accept the situation far too easily. But in the long term he does not disappear.
I am not sure why he acts the way he does during a loss, I think he is conscious of his fans and sponsors.
Lewis Hamilton is a 7 time Formula 1 world Champion, he has just lost his title in controversial circumstances. In the moment of that loss, yes he congratulated Max Verstappen and said all the right things to the media 'Which he gained credit for'. But then he has since gone completely silent, and also did not turn up to the awards ceremony at the end of the season. He has also been refusing to respond to Formula 1 officials trying to contact him. This is a man, and racing driver deep into his career 'After all of his triumphs, he is still highly disappointed'.
You get these normal everyday folk, who mock athletes or anyone who reacts strongly to a loss. People look at these athletes and project themselves and how they would react onto them 'But in reality, this is not how things operate at elite level of sport, business or world affairs'.
Verstappen has recently stated that, if he experiences another championship like last year 'This will shorten his career, due to the intensity and chaos'. Nico Roseberg retired after winning his world championship stating that 'It was affecting his life outside of the sport, the intensity, pressure and warfare'.
When Deontay Wilder loss to Tyson Fury, normal everyday people's perception of Deontay Wilder was one 'Of a bad loser, somebody who could not cope with losing'. My perception was that the war had just begun, and the competition between Wilder & Fury was no longer just a sporting match up. The intensity and near psychopathic reaction of Wilder was frightening, I knew straight away that 'If they would ever meet again for a 3rd fight, Wilder was going to leave it all in the ring'.
I will say this about Joshua? As the months have gone by since his loss to Usyk. He has been slowly but sure less accepting of the Usyk situation. Joshua has been slowly but surely, quite aggressive in his demeanor and attitude regarding the topic.
Check back throughout History, great competitors very few are accepting of a loss. None are immediately accepting, it takes a lot to reach that level of acceptance.

It took Tyson Fury a total of 28 rounds, 3 fights, two court cases, 4 - 5 knock downs ??, in order for Deontay Wilder to finally accept the loss to Tyson Fury.
Complete and utter warfare, none of this humble, modest, matey matey culture that the media likes to gush over these days. Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder was total warfare 'And that is in all honesty, that is the type competition, I want to see'.
Goodness, I have watched post fight videos after recent fights 'And I see all these comments, on videos showing fighters hugging and shaking hands in the changing rooms after the fight'. I could not careless. The only respect a fighter needs to show his competitor is preparing and not cheating 'That is it, nothing more'.
There is this entire sub culture in boxing now, which contains people who act all overly compassionate towards the fighters. And these same people gush over any signs of matey matey behavior between the fighters.
The reason why I call these people fake, is because I watch how people change real quick on here. Even regarding Anthony Joshua, most of his so called fans have piped right down 'But they will pipe back up soon enough if he wins'.
Very few real loyal fans in the game. Fighters need to realize this.

Joshua has desire and work ethic. Its just that under McKracken, he ain't learning anything he needs. All British trainers can teach fighters are new and creative ways to get their faces brokenComment
