Zepeda has mandatory rights. Lopez does not. There's a que needing joining somewhere.

As WBO title holder, Taylor can request immediate WBO mandatory status @ 147 if he wants.

Yeah he will have priority mandatory status. But not immediate. Crawford just cleared his mandatory. He won't be made to do back to back mandatories. Earliest that happens is late this year, but maybe early next year.

Terence Crawford was shot in his head early in his career and needed to take it slow. You mentioned Amir Khan and Kell Brook being TBC's last opponents, but let me ask you this : does Josh Taylor dominate both Amir 'King' Khan and 'Special' Kell Brook at 147? I doubt that the 'Tart-Tomato' outboxes Khan or eats them chocolate-brownies.

Taylor is nothing like a real P4P talent that can compete with bigger opponents, like the #1. P4P Terence 'Bud' Crawford.

Oh he’s taking it slow alright, 34 years old and still hasn’t got any kind of signature win.

And yes, at this stage Taylor beats the dogshìt out of Khan and Brook. In fact he’d always have cracked Khan’s china, a prime Brook would have been a more difficult fight (just as it would have been for Crawford), but Brook is shot to bits.

Thats because their not wanting to talk about beyond feb 26. Teo Lopez is a recent example of not respecting the guy in front of you, and looking past him. Taylor and his team are being careful to avoid that scenario. He has plenty respect for Catteral, and is putting future opponent's out of his mind. That said, it's well known he wants to move to 147, and wants to fight Crawford. So I think if he wins he'll vacate and move up. He knows he may not get Crawford straight away and is prepared to earn his stripes in the division.

One thing I really like about Canelo's run of fights last year was that, we knew what was coming. Even this year Makabu in May, GGG in Sept, 3rd fight in Dec TBA all according to Eddie Reynosa. It's pretty clear he wants Crawford. But they just don't want to take Catteral lightly. Also I don't think Crawford wants Taylor until it's mandated. Throw in the fact that Crawford is no longer with TR, and you can see why Taylor isn't taking anything for granted here. Yes it's less exciting to listen to listen to, but I completely understand it. If he keeps going on about Crawford then losses to Catteral, then he'll look as silly as Lopez looks right now. I believe he's just focused right now is all.

Mate, have a re-read of the article. Those are names he's already beaten at that venue. What he's saying is, that's his home venue, and he has a good history there. He makes weight no problem now. Post Prograis he's been working with a nutritionist and he's had no problems and could, if he wanted, be a career 140 lbr. Going to 147 is from choice, not necessity, as his next goal is to become a 2 weight champion.

This meaningless mandatory was not even necessary, Josh Taylor mislead the fans declaring that he would move-up to fight Terence Crawford but he chickened-out. I dont want to hear anything about promising Jack Catterall a favor for stepping aside for a undisputed clash with Jose Ramirez. In truth, if the 'Tart-Tomato' wanted to repay Jack, he should of vacated and almost guarantee 'El Gato' at least the WBO 147 title.

Teofimo Lopez was last ranked in the top five P4P, no other opponent that Taylor has ever faced reached such heights. The general public would approve of the 'Takeover' as a worthy challenge, but it looks like Taylor is ducking every threat this year ; I doubt we see him in any big-fight in 2022.

Teo don't deserve the fight shouldn't get a straight shot at the undisputed title coming off a loss. The guy needs to sort his life out before he starts thinking about boxing anyone
