FWIW in this conversation, I think a whole lot of people, even if they don't know any current boxers, still think Mike Tyson first or Muhammed Ali.

While Tyson Fury & Anthony Joshua have a whole host of characters and stories attached to their careers. This makes them and the heavyweight division as a whole, the main block busting attraction in the sport.
      Where I go through

Tyson’s clashes with Deontay were a bigger attraction

ggg fights were the last time an Alvarez event was major

      and that was years ago

      we’re short of latinos here

Yes I was going to mention that, the last real time he had a big fight was against Golovkin.

All of these heavyweight fights of late for me, have been bigger attractions 'With epic fall-outs after each fight'. The heavyweight divisions seems like a story being played out in front of the boxing fans etc

Alvarez needs some type of Fernando Vargas, Hector Camacho type of character 'That won't want to take pictures with him, and will most like want to smack him about outside the ring' That is the type of competition he needs.

Canelo Alvarez is a great fighter, but I just don't find anything compelling about his competition or weight classes he is fighting in.
