1. some of the guys you’ve mentioned have moved through multiple divisions.
2. Not everybody has the ability to make whatever fights they want the way Canelo does. Boxing politics is an issue for most but doesn’t apply to Canelo the same way as the “cash cow”
3. The primary point I’m making is that I’m not as impressed with moving through divisions as I am with guys facing the best in whatever division they’re in. I think it would’ve been more challenging for Canelo to get a clear win over ggg at mw and try to unify there with charlo and Andrade than going to 168. At 168, I think Benavidez was the best challenge and like I said, canelo only chased those titles once Benavidez was stripped and now is leaving the division to face a complete unknown. Canelo stopped at 175 and left without facing the other 2 legot challenges.
4. To clarify, I’m not defending anyone not fighting the best in their division. So this isn’t just for canelo but there’s no reason why Crawford vs Spence hasn’t happened and ggg, charlo and Andrade have yet to face one another or why bivol and beterbiev shouldn’t fight next. But again, Canelo has the power to make the fights he wants, that’s not the case with these other guys due to their promotional affiliations.
That last one I see more on Bivol because Beterbiev already took on Govozdyk which was a hellacious matchup on paper and in the ring. When our fighters do show warrior spirit that is always great - eg Pittbull now shouting loud and clear but that is easier when you have nothing to lose as is his case. When you have something to lose like Donaire vs Inoue and Chocalatito and Estrada then that is real ballsy - and they do it repeatedly too.

You know full well those guys you mentioned can’t quietly negotiate weight limits. I’m sure also they aren’t gonna get their opponents ten million bucks like Canelo does. What’s stopping them money. I guarantee you if you gave any of those guys 36 million bucks to fight the weakest belt holder in every division they’d sign up on the spot. They aren’t getting it and they can’t offer these weak fighters ten million bucks when they haven’t made ten million bucks themselves. How many fights did bjs pass up til he got paid. How many fights did smith pass up on to get his ten million. So if you wanna talk state all the facts. Yes, there are guys at 147/154/160/168 who could jump up and snatch titles. They don’t have the star power to pay an opponent ten million. There is the difference. I’m pretty sure ggg, Charlie, bjs, etc all would’ve folded kovalev just as easily. Bivol and beef chased kovalev and couldn’t get him, he fought that kid that nearly finished him off and then sold his belt to Canelo. All these dudes have turned down fights waiting on that ten million. Frame it how you want the guy he’s now fighting isn’t a first option sparring choice. Let that truth settle in.he’s known for being brought in when a fighter needs to build his confidence and you are about to pay all that money to watch the confidence building sparring partner walk his belt to the ring and hand it over.
As for the rest of it - you blotted your own copybook by stating that BJS would have KO'd Kovalev at 175 - yep - when Billie boy was well known as a ko artist of elite fighters at 160 and 168.
You also don't need to be paid tens of millions to move up - just twice your highest ever payday would be a good start.

Earlier in his career he looked good against B-C level comp, he stepped up to face mayweather and got schooled. He looked great against angulo and everyone said he improved off the mayweather fight but he went right back to looking lost vs Lara. He then went on a selective run of opposition and the only decent name he faced was an old small Cotto. During that time he avoided ggg until he felt it was safe and needed judges help to avoid a loss in 2 fights. Went to a weak champion in fielding and stepped up again vs Jacobs and looked poor. He then picked on an old washed up and compromised Kovalev while leaving two good fights in the table at mw vs charlo and Andrade. Once Benavidez got stripped he petitioned for the vacant title, a belt he expressed 0 interest in getting when Benavidez had it and targeted one of the weakest divisions in boxing. Now he found himself another weak champion that he can take a belt from. So to summarize, his approach now is to find the weakest champion available, not the best challenge available.
Your favorite fighters can't even do it in their weight class
Golovkin? LMAO

Just more nonsense where Canelo is concerned.
Broke Callum Smiths arm. Beat up his big brother too
Had Caleb Plant running
Turned G's face to mush
Separated Kovalevs soul from his body for a split second
The kid is legit

But I don't see any stellar champions jumping up 2 weight divisions to fight weak champions. I've seens good champions jump up to fight legit champs and that's normally a bad idea (Brook, Khan, Mikey Garcia) .
Whats to stop Spence or Bud jumping up to fight Munguia when he was champ or Murata at MW? Whats to stop Jermall stepping up to fight BJS when he was champ or Joe Smith now? Whats to stop Josh Taylor jumping up to LMW? Whats to stop Inoue jumping up to fight at 126 or Oscar Valdez jumping up to fight Kambosos?
Canelo can pick and choose.

Canelo took down Callum smith, the top man at SMW, and man-handled him. If at the time there had been talk of a Benavidez-smith showdown, few people would have picked Benavidez to win. That’s just one example. He side steps fights that don’t move the needle and morons will always claim he’s scared.
