Comments Thread For: Froch: Crawford Beats Josh Taylor, But Taylor Deserves To Be in There

Undisputed junior welterweight champion Josh Taylor could be one fight away from a major showdown - and certainly the biggest fight of his career. In May, Taylor became the undisputed champ at 140-pounds when he decisioned Jose Ramirez over twelve rounds.

I don't see Taylor beating any of the top 4 guys at 147 and Crawford probably won't be a huge money fight .Taylor should stay at 140 and wait for all the big name fighters at 135 to move up.

Taylor is pretty big for 140, but no way he survives against the lions at 147, to include the prospects Ennis and Ortiz.

I hope that Crawford can get the Josh Taylor fight out of the way so we can see Crawford vs Spence sometime in the Summer of 2022.

Honestly, Taylor deserves his accolades but 147 is different. I can't wait for him to jump in the mix but I'm not sure he beats any of the top guys at 147, young or old. I have to see him at the weight a few times first. Right now, edging Prograis & Ramirez isn't enough, unified or not.

Can't wait for him to move up though.

Naw fam, that last part would be just for $ and to pick on small guys. He's already big for 140 so he should prove his worth and make the jump. He's not fighting Teo or Tank next so who would he fight in the next few fights? I'd agree if I was his manager but of he wants to be considered great, he'd try at 147.

This gaba can fight, people count him out. If Taylor gets a welcoming 147 fight and looks good, than its a damn good scrap.

You know the writers of the boxingscene have ranked Josh Taylor in their top 10 P4P, I personally disagree. A P4P elite boxer should be able to compete with men at higher weights, but I dont believe that Josh Taylor could even beat a Andre Berto at 147, or even a rising prospect like Blair 'The Flair' Cobbs.

But I bet you that Teofimo Lopez would go on to 140 and win titles and even beat the 'Tart-Tomato' if given the chance, because thats what REAL P4P talent does. Carl 'Cobra' Froch knows that Josh Taylor is absolutely overrated, Terence Crawford would thrash Josh Taylor worse than Andre Ward did Carl Froch in the Super-Six.
