I agree that a lot of fighters need credible wins first before such a big fight because that would generate more interest and would make it less of a no-win situation for Canelo.

It doesn't really matter to me who Canelo fights. Charlo, Benavidez, a rabid hyena...if the fight interests me I will watch it and if it doesn't I won't (if it's not on PPV I will watch regardless).

Benevidez is a 2 time WBC champ at 168, first time he became champion was at the age of 22 and it wasn’t against some scrub like Matthew Hatton who blew up to 154 to fight Canelo for Canelo’s first belt.

Benevidez not going to make 168 for a high payday and legacy fight against Canelo is funny. Benevidez didn’t make weight in a fight months after COVID was a massive issue and he said it on Bryan Custer’s podcast he had issue making weight since he and his team couldn’t work out to shed those pounds off. Benavidez being popped for ******* shouldn’t be such a issue, we acting like boxers don’t do drugs? Meanwhile Canelo has been popped using PED’s and he also made his own weight class 155lb to avoid GGG and he also dropped the WBC after he beat canelo haha. Come on man Canelo done worse than Benevidez.

Truth is Team Canelo don’t want to give the young Mexican monster a chance to beat Mexico’s golden child and take their spot. Your going to knock Benavidez's accomplishment's in the ring, after you elevated Yildrim's weak as hell record's then your a scam artist.
There is no way that the Yildrim fight should've ever been made, and as pathetic as the fight itself turned out to be, just confirms that fact.

All I heard was excuses from Canelos team. Fact of the matter is that regardless of Benavitez’s resume, he is still the most intriguing and the most dangerous match up for Canelo at this time.

Benavitez throws a sh#t ton of punches, has a high gas tank, has power, goes to the body hard, he’s in your face the entire fight, and he’s a bigger threat than GGG, Charlo, or Mugai or whatever his name is. This is a clear duck.

No one wants to see Canelo fight a no name who just happens to have a belt at Cruiserweight and no one was asking for it either. Fight guys who we care about who offers a challenge to Canelo like Benavitez.
