If he loses the rematch with Usyk, Joshua will have to fight his way back into title contention.

Here is why people get annoyed (and they should be annoyed with Usyk, not Joshua).

Ruiz was a voluntary defense, of course Joshua is going to demand a rematch clause and if Ruiz says no, he just picks a different opponent.

But Usyk was MANDATORY. Which means Usyk had a guaranteed title shot with NO REMATCH CLAUSE and his team didn't think he'd win, so they voluntarily sold a rematch clause to Joshua. So we're stuck with a fight we don't want to see when we could have instead had Fury-Usyk for the undisputed championship.

Arum is a promoter, not a manager. He has no fiduciary duty to the fighter. Arum must act in Top Rank's best interest. He hired Lomachenko and Teofimo to fight each other. He has no obligation to look out for Lomachenko's interests over Teofimo's or his own.

Lomachenko is under contract to Arum. If Lomachenko refuses to fight, he sits home with no fight and makes no money. Lomachenko had no leverage to force a rematch clause. It was a unification.

Frank talking sense here, Eddie Hearn and Rematchroom are ruining boxing with all these rematch clauses.

I hope that Frank's plan works out. Have a keep busy fight in March, then beat up Whyte and then fight the winner of Usyk-Joshua for all the marbles.

Fury , by far the best heavyweight in the world today should be fighting Usyk in March but a ridiculous Hearn rematch clause has put pay to that .Joshua who was beaten hands down gets another undeserved chance when the best heavyweight and the man with the other belts should be in the ring together and Joshua should be made to fight his way up the order.....Hearn is holding up the the best contests as usual to suit his own pocket. If you know boxing you will know this!

You seem to forget that Fury would most likely be undisputed by now if he didn’t have to rematch Wilder.

So did I but your missing the point, the poster i was quoting is saying that the Usyk rematch is holding up the undisputed fight but not even acknowledging that the Wilder rematch held up the undisputed fight
