He clearly saw something that spook him in the Loma/Teo fight. That's when it all started. All of a sudden he wants no part of Loma anymore because Vasily lost, according to him. Then Gamboa and Linares were more deserving of his attention.

That’s why people should never believe anything on face value. Everybody calls out fighters that supposedly want. Doesn’t mean they actually want to. They just make a ****** demand behind the scenes when they know it’ll never happen but in public it looks like they wanted it.

Say what you want about Teofimo Lopez, he truly wanted the Loma fight, chased the fight and took it for less money with no crowd because he believed he could win and he did. It’s all gone a bit downhill since but that’s not the point. He’s shown he has way more about him than Haney, Tank etc..

I give Teo credit for fighting Loma, but as I recall it was looking shaky until Loma agreed to lower his purse to top up Teo no?

Regardless, no complaints because the fight got made, thats the thing, I don't care what someone asks for during negotiating, as long as it gets made.

I've never heard complaints about Loma asking for too much or demanding massive sums for a certain fight, funny that.

its really not. loma and lopez made less than 5 million combined. the only way haney could get 5 million for loma is if dazn put that money up...they have not, in fact they have put up zero offers to fight loma. just a lot of talk. haney knows top rank would never put that money up. its essentially just saying i dont want to fight right now. if you know lomas promoter wont put that money up and you yourself arent making any offers how does the fight happen?

This what happens when DAZN came in overpaying guys to make a splash and Haymon puts crap fights like Tanks last one and Thurman’s comeback/showcase fight with two guys coming off losses on PPV.
Anyone with a hint of a good win thinks they are stars when they don’t bring in the money to justify it.

That is the era now with these boxers. They name drop and when they actually start talking they price themselves out. Then the promoters will try to spin it like the other fighter didn't want the fight. Haney is not worth that much and he is becoming a boring fighter that can't punch.
