Arum knows that Fury vs Whyte is the biggest all-British HW bout in a long time. The only one that's bigger is Fury vs Joshua, but since AJ is coming off a loss to a former CW, it's not as big as it would have been. Tyson would bring in at least 30 million against Whyte. If 10 million is too much, talk negotiation, not alternative opponents. It makes Fury look like he doesn't want that Whyte smoke.

Everyone is confusing what the split is. The SPLIT Whyte is fighting for with the WBC, has to do with a purse bid.

Let's say, for argument's sake, it goes to purse bid, and the WBC gives Whyte a 30% slice. Arum wins the rights with a 20 million bid - which is very high for a purse bid - that's only 6 million to Whyte. If it goes to a purse bid, Arum's side has no obligation to make any other concessions - in terms of giving Whyte a slice of PPV, gate, merch, etc. He gets his 6 million and nothing more.
Why are you referencing a fight that happened during lockdown? If Fury had fought during the same period he wouldn’t have made more than $1m! There’s a reason why he cancelled his fight against Kabayel.

Also, if we’re going by the money filed to boxing commission - the 3 Fury fights against Wilder had 2m, 3m and 4m guaranteed respectively according to documents submitted to boxing commissions in the US. I don’t care about the bogus PPV figures - those are the guaranteed figures. So what’s the difference?

With AJ, it was a voluntary fight and AJ being a megastar and biggest draw in British boxing history was the shot caller. Fury on the other hand has no proven record of being a draw in the U.K. and Whyte is his mandatory. Heck, Whyte has done better numbers than Fury in the U.K.

BTW, WBC mandatory is like 35% (I might be wrong). That’s the least split he should be offered.

You could be right but I’m not sure how much cache comes with the WBC belt if Whyte ices some tomato can to get it. I know Usyk is the unified champion but it’s not like he’s a household name or anything like that. I just hope that the Whyte Fury fight gets made. Unless Fury vacates and then Whyte beats Wilder then I can see big dollars being thrown at Whyte.

Chisora is understandable ,he got waxed bad by Duhaupus though ,it’s not exactly even that it’s Helenius brings about zero anything besides decent punch you can see a mile away .

The only worse top ranked guy they could seek is Kabayel so I guess there’s that which I thought they would announce ?

Whyte made about £2m in their first fight at the o2 and he was unknown whilst AJ wasn’t a superstar yet. A fight between the two now, especially with Whyte as a champ would sell out Wembley the same day

Fury’s isn’t vacating ,it’s clear what Arum sneakily is saying . He’s saying no Whyte fight is happening after Furys next fight because they go into the Usyk vs AJ winner .

In short like I thought these guys swerved Whyte and did it very smartly . No one can tell me Helenius is going to give Fury more difficultly it’s just an outright lie but I know there’s going to be that group on here .

Fighting in March for Fury like Arrum said is good, against anybody. Whyte wants to go to court and has already been inactive for a year, fine. Fury needs to stay active, he already went through this **** with wilder. Joshua vs usick will probably get pushed out to June, Fury vs anybody in March, Whyte in June, Usick in October, November. Rematch with usick April cause of rematch clause even though Fury wins. 2 or 3 more fights against the top ranked young guns, then retire as an all time great.

The fight was in March and they had a crowd I believe. The first fight was last August during lockdown. Fury would NOT have made 1 million. He had a 25 million contracted guarantee for the Wilder trilogy no matter when it took place.

If Whyte made more for the Povetkin rematch, he will have to present evidence to the WBC at arbitration - a catch-22 because that means he lied to them about what he made to get lower sanctioning fees on his purses - which may open him up to bigger issues.

You keep confusing the WBC split with contract negotiations. The WBC split refers to purse bid - not private negotiations over PPV, merch, etc. Once again, if Arum wins the purse bid, he is only obligated to give Whyte his percentage of the purse bid amount - nothing more. This is why most big fights never go to purse bid when a PPV is involved.

We wont ever get an undisputed heavyweight champion. I personally wanna see a full unification for undisputed heavyweight champion. Without all the titles on the line the fight with Fury / Usyk AJ winner loses some luster.
