I think what gets lost in the talk about money and controlling your career around here is, has he tried to make those fights? The answer is? So yes, in a demand business he’s gonna take lower risk higher reward. He isn’t a payday to anyone til he offers them the fight and honestly he hasn’t, so…he’s also gotta have an opponent across from him that he can dictate everything to. That’s cool, doesn’t mean when he offers to the fight to someone it’ll be accepted. Not a duck, just being real. It’s a business, people talk about criticism, well with big bucks comes expectations. He could’ve arguably cleaned out his divisions in swift fashion. You see how fast he can book a fight. He hasn’t. He’s targeting his next marketing angle. That’s fine. Just be real about it fam. I’m all ok with fighters getting everything they can but don’t fake the funk, most of these fights have been snatch and grabs. He will face those names eventually we all want but let’s call what he’s done this run what it is, stacking the bank.Rec28 likes this.

I've tried to think who'd have similar skills to him at a lower weight. I thought Eubanks Jr but Makabu is a better boxer than him. Possibly the Sullivan Barrera that fought Ward (who was no pushover for Ward). Imagine if Spence would skip a division to fight Eubanks JR? Who you got? The bookies would have Spence as a narrow favourite based more on his record so he'd find a way. That is exactly how they should have Canelo against Makabu - as a slight favourite. But maybe people like you will pile in on Canelo and I'll take the value bet on Makabu.
If Jermell Charlo skips 2 divisions to fight Saunders or Plant - who you got ?
Makabu vs Mchunu is not a gimme for Makabu either. Mchunu is competitive. If I was Makabu's trainer I'd tell him not to to look too good against Mchunu or he'll lose the Canelo fight.Last edited by SteveM; 12-22-2021, 04:13 AM.

Interestingly. you always forget to mention Andrade, cuz Canelo wants no part of him, too.
Or have you maybe been banned to mention names of guys from "the other side of the street", just like PBC fighters, trainers, managers and other occultists have been banned to comment on non-PBC fights on social media lately?

As for Makabu not being crap he is, the only worthwhile attribute he has is his power and even then it's nothing to right home about, he does not have a decent chin and certainly doesn't have decent footwork, don't know what give you that impression.
He's the smallest Cruiserweight champion often has weighed between 193-197 the most vulnerable, the least skilled and the easiest to hit perfect opponent to make a "legacy defining" fight with.
