Comments Thread For: Canelo on Criticism That He is Avoiding Benavidez, Charlo: 'Haters Are Always Going To Be Haters'

No matter how many historical milestones he checks off and titles he collects, Canelo Alvarez believes there is no satisfying certain critics. The Mexican superstar and current unified super middleweight champion recently expressed his dismay with the notion - popular in some corners of the boxing peanut gallery

Canelo telling the truth benevidez doesnt bring none to the table no belts not a ppv draw so to canelo why make the fight outside mandatory defense. As for charlo thats a good ? Why not fight. If you beat jacobs you can beat charlo. Charlo avoided jacobs when talked talked so much smack . i dont see the heart there got quiet when jacobs confronted him backstage

I believe in what he is saying, nobody makes big in-line fights against Champion / Undefeated boxers like him, not even close. Not being a fan, just facts.

hmm no one serious really says that. they say you are avoiding beterbiev and have been by pretending you arent a 175 pounder...oh now you are a cruiser though? we saw the same thing with ggg. im too small for 160! makes up a division and then fights at super middle lmao

He will get this until he beats Ben. Charlo has no right to be at super middle .....no one would fault him fighting at light heavy where he's been before but talk of fighting at cruiser against a average champion is poor and Usyk there is a bridge too far.

caleb plant being the top ranked guy at 168 shows just how laughable that division was. he hadnt fought anyone. and who else? callum smith was undefeated cause they gave him a gift in his fight before canelo, clearly doesnt count. oh yeah saundes the bloat bag was undefeated but had no business at 168 and looked like sh-ite winning a fake belt against some random bum and looking horrible. plant was the only ok fighter he has fought lately. what a shame canelo was hidign out there saying he was too small for 175. we now know that was a lie but then again we already knew that cause he did the same thing with ggg and 155

If these dudes want a fight with Canelo, they needa make themselves worth something instead of just raising their hand waiting for him to pick them. Canelo runs his own show and seems to only be bounty hunting for guys with belts, so they gotta earn a mandatory spot at SMW if they wanna force him to fight them. Benavidez is gonna get his mandatory spot(again) after he(most likely) hammers Lemieux, so we'll see what Canelo does after that happens, if it happens. Charlo shouldn't even be spoken of in this convo after going ghost when Benavidez put that pressure on him.
