Comments Thread For: Beterbiev: I Am Open To Fighting Canelo If He Wants To Return To Light Heavyweight Division

Now that Artur Beterbiev has made mandatory defenses of his two light heavyweight titles in 2021, he is more than ready for what would be by far the biggest fight of his career.

If Canelo fights Makabu next it would be great if Beterbiev and Bivol face each other.

Let one guy emerge as the biggest badass at 175 lbs, that would make a fight against Canelo even more attractive.

At this point in Canelo's career is all about " low risk-high reward " . And who could blame him. He's in a position to call the shots on who and when he fights. It's all about money and winning. You want to make easy money ? Bet on all of Canelo's fights for him to win from here on in. He's going to fight opponents that are guaranteed wins. He won't be fighting the Beterbiev's of the world. Triple G ? There will be no trilogy until Canelo is confident Tripe G can no longer lift his arms. Take this to the bank. Bet on all of Canelo's remaining fights for him to win. There will be no risk.

Don't you want to see Bivol vs. Zurdo?

I would prefer Bivol vs Beterbiev in a unification.

If we can't get that then Zurdo is certainly a better option than Bivol's last two opponents.

This a perfect opportunity for Canelo to show that he is not Cherry Picking. Can't wait till he signs the contract to fight Beterbiev lool

This. This times 100. I want that unification more than I want either guy wasting time chasing Alvarez. Obviously, if either man gets the Alvarez fight they should take it. But I am hoping Beterbiev abd Bivol see each other as their best option.

Beterbiev vs JSJ/Johnson for the WBO is more likely IMO.
